My wife and I stopped by here Thursday June 11th 2020.

We were just looking for some take out, but when we drove by El Tapatio, we saw they were open on the patio and so we looked in the windows and saw a few people spaced apart and many yellow tapes blocking off the tables and booths. Wearing mask, we walked in and I’d have to say that the dining room was indeed set up for social distancing. The layout was amazing. There were 15 to 20 feet between diners. We agreed this a great first place to eat out for the first time in 3 months. I asked for a table far from others and they were happy to accommodate us. We got our chips and salsa, and after 20 minutes we were greeted by our wait staffer and asked for water. We asked to be relocated because they removed the yellow tape from the table next to ours. Looking through the menu’s list of what appears to be awesome Latino food, we decided to share the Spanish fajitas. We waited about an hour. We waited so long because we could see the takeout line was long. Very long. That’s great and good for them. They have a good customer base and further assured us we made a good choice. Then, however we noticed people, many many people, so many people we asked to be relocated to a space where we where not so close to other diners. We again got reseated and continued to wait. 1hour and 15minutes after we ordered, they took the tape off of two tables next to us and combine them to seat 8 people. They knew why we wanted to be seated apart. We are practicing social distancing. They knew this. We got up to walk out and a staffer brought us our food. There was no place to relocate to continue eating so we asked for the manager to talk about what is happening. By now the are at around 90% capacity. We expressed our concerns and then lied to us about how he was just told that current CDC guidelines allowed for 100% capacity. They could not do this. Diners of different parties were at most 3feet apart. No mask worn by any staff and no gloves worn by any staff.

Needless to say this place puts profits of human lives. Will never dine here again. I will be taking to Facebook, Twitter and informing KELOLAND news of what we say and what was said to us.

Dine here at your own mortal risk.

Don’t take my word for it, if you are close by, drive buy around 3pm and see how packed they are.

Don’t take the risk. Stay away. If the will not follow CDC guidelines, who knows what else they ignore to increase profits at the customers expense.

The manager gave us our meal for free per our conversation. Now it’s just a matter of time before we find out if we were given Covid19 for free as well.

I will never go here again and I will use every form of communication to insure my fellow...

When we arrived it was totally quiet, 8pm and there were only two other tables in the whole restaurant with customers and they were finishing up. It took almost 40 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive and the tails had been left on the shrimp on the fajitas which makes them harder to eat of course and overall the fajitas were bland. The BEEF enchiladas were pretty good except for the fact that most of the way through them I found that the shredded beef is mixed with pork. This was not disclosed anywhere in the menu and nobody had mentioned it to us. This is obviously an issue for anyone with allergies or certain religious practices. The manager (or who seemed to be the manager) was "assisted" by a different employee who is more proficient in English, although we had no issue understanding the manager. The employee assisting proceeded to yell at us and tell me that it is not their problem that I did not ask of there was pork or any other meat mixed in with the beef. He was literally screaming at us. I have never been treated so poorly by anyone in food service. Everyone else there was wonderful and the manager was also upset with the employees behavior and was very polite, apologetic, and understanding about the issue and told us he would talk with the owner about getting the information...

Then when go to pay the bill they give u the bill at certin price and i gave my card for them to run it and to come back with sign recipt for us to sign to see they charged $3.88 non cash fee. When confronting the server he got a attitude with me and i asked for a manager and the manager as well was very rude and not passionet for his constumers. I wasnt mad they charged the money i can pay it i was mad because when asking why they charge with out saying and getting the attidude. Then to walk out the server confronts me again asking in rude way " did u get ur anwser" and i anwsered youe attitude and rudeness isnt needed and he yells loudly i dont need your money anyways. Very rude, not professional and i will never eat at this restaraunt again and word of mouth hurts and i will be telling everyone i know to not eat here. Not worth it ans i can spend my needed money else where.

Had dinner with a friend on a Tuesday night. Not busy at all and got right in for the patio. We were then ignored by staff for about 10-15 min until I waved a server down. Two tables were sat after us and had their drinks before we got served. There must have been confusion on who's table was who's. We eventually got our drinks and the chips and salsa. The salsa was very good and flavorful! I enjoyed. My friend and I shared a mango margarita, yummmmmm. It was plenty for both of us and I loved all the flavor choices. I would come back for the marg. My friend had the cheese quesadilla and I had a combo meal. We were both satisfied with our meals. The taco shell came instantly mushy so l didn't eat that but ate the meat and toppings. The rice and beans were very good. Good and drink were good but the service (like other reviews) lacked. Will come again for drinks

I dont know why this review is on El Tapitio's. My review below, is for Jalapeños, in Hot Springs, SD. I have been to many Mexican restaurants, in many different cities, in all my travels. This is by far one of the top three. Everything about this place is just fantastic, right down to all the art. I completely forgot to bring my camera this time. I didn't even think about it until after I finished eating. I did get a photo of the scruptious margarita flight. I love their guacamole dip, way better than most restaurants, the edible bowl, it comes in, is so delicious🤤 I'm going to say with great positivity, I am not the only one who feels this way, about this restaurant. Every time we come here this place is packed! ENJOY 🥰🥰
