Shame on them the first time. Shame on me the second time. And there will not be a third time.
A few weeks ago we visited Our Place (dine in). The place was very busy which is usually a great sign when going somewhere for the first time. Took us about 10 minutes to be seated, and about another 10 to be greeted by a waiter(times are tough I understand, but making eye contact multiple times with someone and being ignored is completely different). Placed our order after deciding on a salad to share and a large (18”) pizza. Requested utensils from a few waiters that happened to pass and none were brought until our third time asking once we had a salad infront of us and they were soaking wet. After waiting about a hour and half for the pizza we were unpleasantly surprised to find the pizza was inedible, burnt and the toppings were dried out. The issues were brought to the manager’s attention and she was very apologetic, added us to the list for a 2nd chance complimentary pizza(which we appreciated very much at the time) and we once again understood employment is difficult these days but suggested maybe to help certain younger employees with additional training.
Fast forward to this evening 4/24 we happened to be back in Branford. Ordered a chicken bacon ranch (classic! Simple ingredients!) and my order was met with confusion as to if I wanted ranch on the pizza or on the side…I told him on the pizza we also requested that the crust be left thicker to avoid being burnt. Pick up time was estimated 35-40 min. We arrived 40 min later to pick up the pizza( not many customers in the restaurant at all) it was not completed and apparently it was because they ran out of bacon right before it was time to dress the pizza…I was fairly irritated so I spoke with the same manager as our first experience. She began problem solving, found bacon, offered us dessert(cannoli and chocolate cake) for compensation for the way our second experience was going… Finally the pizza was boxed and ready to go. Ranch was not on the pizza…it was in cups on the side, the crust was THIN and burnt in random circular places, toppings were thin to none and dried out. Dessert (chocolate cake) looks like a lump of uncooked batter…
We appreciate the female manager who did attempt to help our situation…but we will...
Read moreFirst time ordering or eating here. I used the slice app to order the meal and requested curbside pick up.
I ordered two calzones, two crab bisque soup, and two desserts. $56.00 after a 10% discount for using the app.
I received a text from the app that the food was ready and instructions to call the restaurant when I arrived for the items to be brought out.
Upon arrival I called. The person whom answered the phone was rude and cut me off when I explained I was here to pick up an order, told the order was not ready and then was hung up on. At this point I went inside to see what was wrong with the order or how long it would take in case I needed to come back later for pick up.
Upon entrance the restaurant appeared clean and appeared to be full. I waited while the server behind the desk was on the phone and gave over another order for someone. I tried to explain I was picking up an app order. The server began to scold me for using the app and that it never worked right and my food was not ready. I stated that was ok. Then she proceeded to say my soup and dessert was on the counter. I looked over what was in the bag and it was a small portion of soup with the bowl about half full. I stated I had ordered two and tried to show her the order confirmation from the app. She stated “well the app only shows one and that was all I was getting.” I interrupted her and stated I had proof that I had paid for all the items and I was willing to wait. She finally said ok and left. A few minutes later she went to the back and brought the calzones out. Then I waited on the bench and a bit later she brought out a soup and dessert. The soup was cold.
Throughout the entire interactions with this server she was rude. I could have said something but the servers rudeness made me Leary on what she would do if I asked for it to be fixed. Normally I leave 25% cash tips even if I order on an app. Due to the servers attitude and the vindictiveness to intentionally give me cold soup I did not leave a tip.
On another note the calzone was good and I do recommend others to order the calzones.
Advice to the owner: Fire the rude server that worked your desk and register on 02/05/2022 at around 6:30pm. She was Dark haired in a ponytail and was young approximately...
Read moreThis was only our third time here, the first time was great! The second time we went I ordered the Fettecuni Alfredo with chicken and the chicken was diced and mixed into the noodles so you couldn't tell the exact amount of chicken. When I gathered all the diced chicken together and asked about the amount of meat, I was told is was an 8 oz chicken breast. There were about 15 pieces of diced chicken in my Alfredo. However, I was cooked another piece of chicken. Tonight was the third and final time for us at this establishment! I ordered the same dish as usual, the Fettecuni Alfredo with Broccoli and Shrimp, my husband ordered lasagna. The garlic knots they brought us were not edible. They were hard and had a terrible taste. I told the waitress, she brought us another basket of garlic knots that were warm, not very soft and they didn't taste any better. When our order finally came, the waitress brought baked ziti to my husband instead of lasagna and my order was right. I took a bite of my broccoli and it was hard and not very warm. So, strike number 2. The waitress finally brought my husband his "lasagna" that was flat, smothered in cheese and tomato sauce. He said it was horrible. You could tell it had been put in a microwave. When another waiter asked him about it and he voiced his displeasure, that was a far as it went. That was strike number 3. Eat here at your own risk. We ate before 5:00 and there were 5 tables total with 3 wait staff, it's a shame. Should have went to the...
