Wooooo-weeeeee,
This place is really good and it is worth the wait. I can't guarantee on how long you'll wait, but from our brief experience which we went back to back, we went on Sunday and Monday during the holidays and the closer you go to them closing to me is better cuz you don't have to wait as long and the quality is still great. The food, the atmosphere it's loud. That's okay. We were expecting that. So that's the norm for this type of restaurant and it's not a tourist trap. The food was so good. I haven't had brunch, breakfast, lunch, whatever this good in a long time. Something as simple as hash browns tasted so fresh and seasoned. We didn't even need to put ketchup on them at all. My wife stopped me and said nope doesn't need it. Trust me and she was right my jaw dropped. I was like wow everything was good. Matter of fact all the pictures are from both Sunday and Monday when we went before Christmas and both times were excellent. Had a great time, the food again. Everybody else raves about this place so I'm starting to do the same thing but it is definitely worth the wait. It is a bounty of food for the price so come hungry, but you're still most likely going to leave with some containers. Staff was friendly, accommodating and didn't want for nothing other than to have more room in my stomach. We love this place and I'm relieved to see that they are not just one restaurant but they have a few in the state of Missouri On the first visit we just shared the the main breakfast with the pancake. I ordered two pieces of chicken just to see what it was like. OMG very good juicy plenty of favor. The French toast? Wow I can't believe it. I'm even saying it something as simple as this had great taste. Maybe it's just my taste buds. I don't drink or do drugs but my wife and I our taste buds were just infused with all these flavors and it wasn't overpowering. It was great. And then the next day we went my wife got freaking country country smothered biscuits that were awesome. I got corned beef and hash with the French toast again and it was awesome. Oh Lord, it was so good so hopefully you'll go with someone or your family and enjoy breaking bread because this is the place that you'll definitely break your bread and we'll bust that belly at Billy...
Read moreSince we have finally moved into town and have heard nothing but great reviews about this place, my husband and I decided to try it. Let me first start off by saying, the atmosphere and our waitress would be the only reason why we would come back. The French pancake was good, but everything else was bland and a disappointment. There was only one person seated when we went in, so it wasn't a surprise how quickly the food was brought to us. The waitress did forget our side of avocados, but we like to order a lot when trying a new place, so we can try more than just one thing, so that wasn't a big deal. But even the avocados were a disappointment. They were super small and old. As someone who has been in the restaurant food service industry for a long time, I wouldn't have served those. And, I know at times, we can't control the produce that we receive, but they were horrible. After receiving the bill and paying it, we planned to leave the waitress a 90% tip in cash. She was busy when we were leaving, but I am quite adamant to always leave my server the tip we leave. Now this is where things really make me mad. We were standing by the door and kinda waiting in hopes to see our waitress knowing she was busy and one of the other waitresses who wasn't busy told me just give her the tip and not to worry because they don't steal from each other and would get the tip to her. FIRST OF ALL, I SERVED FOR MANY YEARS AND KNOW THAT FOR THE MOST PART, SERVERS WON'T STEAL FROM EACH OTHER!!!! I LIKE TO HAND MY SERVERS THEIR TIP AND THANK THEM PERSONALLY. HOWEVER, I HAVE SEEN OTHER CUSTOMERS TAKE CASH OFF TABLES MANY TIMES!!!!! OUR WAITRESS DESERVED OUR 90% AND I WANTED TO MAKE SURE WE GAVE IT TO HER. It had nothing to do with assuming the other servers would take it, but the insinuation the other waitress made of me thinking that, pissed me off!!!! That is NOT A CONVERSATION SHE SHOULD HAVE WITH A CUSTOMER SHE DIDN'T EVEN SERVE!!!! ESPECIALLY IN FRONT OF 2 OTHER SERVERS STANDING THERE!!!!!! GO AHEAD AND OFFER TO GIVE THE SERVER HER TIP, BUT ADDING THAT THEY'RE ALL CLOSE AND THAT THEY WOULD NEVER STEAL FROM EACH OTHER IS ASSUMING I'M THINKING THAT, ABSOLUTELY UNNECESSARY AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. THAT...
Read moreI rated this a 4 but it could really be either a 3 or a 4. I decided to go with a 4 since the only disappointment was some of the food but the rest was great. We were told that the wait was 40 minutes. We proceeded to head to the tool store next door(I HIGHLY recommend checking the tool store out) and after only 15-20 minutes, we got a call saying that we were ready to be seated which was a pleasant surprise. We got seated with a fantastic server. She did a great job and was very nice throughout our entire time in this establishment. The atmosphere is well decorated and brings you back to the “good old days”. Everything was great here.(except for the items I will complain about) The wait time for the food took no longer than 25-30 minutes. The portions were huge enough to bring leftovers home. The pancakes were absolutely huge and they tasted AMAZING. I would come back just for them. You can rip them apart and use them like a tortilla to eat your breakfast. My first complaint is about the sirloin steak. I’m not quite sure what was up with the steak. It’s as if they squeezed an entire lime on the steak. To me, it tasted almost rancid. I could only eat half of it. It was definitely the worst steak I’ve ever had in my life. I did not bring this up to the waiter(I’m sure she would’ve done something about it) since I’m not the type to complain to someone who had nothing to do with the food and I had ordered a side of sausage which was much much better than the steak. My second complaint is that my father and mother both found the food to be dry. Now, I personally didn’t even take note of it since I’m used to breakfast generally being dry in the first plate but they did bring that up which counts for something since they’re both breakfast connoisseurs. Also, the price for 4 people was quite fair in my opinion. With that being said, I definitely recommend coming here as long as you don’t...
