Choice Burger in Brea is one of those spots that just quietly exists, doing everything right without making a big fuss about it. Every time I’m anywhere near the area, it’s basically my go-to. It’s a little stand-alone place—honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it used to be an old Taco Bell way back when. The building kind of gives off that vibe. But what it is now is a solid mom-and-pop greasy spoon that knows exactly what it’s doing. The staff is always super friendly—just nice, down-to-earth people slinging big portions of comfort food without any pretension. And when I say big portions, I mean you better show up hungry or bring backup. They’ve got all the classics: burgers, sandwiches, breakfast plates, plus a whole lineup of Mexican dishes like quesadillas, tacos, burritos. Basically, if you’re craving it, they’ve probably got it. Every time I go, I tell myself I’m gonna branch out and try one of their Mexican plates because they look great. But I always cave and go back to the burger combo. It’s like that friend you can always count on—reliable, satisfying, no surprises. This time around, I got the double cheeseburger with fries and a drink. The whole thing came out to under $15, and let me tell you: it’s a lot of food for that price. Big sandwich, massive pile of fries, and by the end, I was so full I actually left food on the tray. That almost never happens. They’ve got this little salsa bar too—fresh diced peppers, plenty of ketchup, and if you ask for ranch, they’ll give it to you without nickel-and-diming you for it. I didn’t ask for a drink refill, so I can’t confirm if they’ll top you off, but honestly, they probably would because they’re just that kind of place. Is this some fancy gourmet Smashburger? Nope. It’s not pretending to be. It’s just a really solid old-school cheeseburger—fresh, tasty, with all the fixings. I added grilled onions (no extra charge) because that’s how I roll. And like I said, I still had to tap out with a couple bites left. One of the other things I love about Choice Burger is the easy parking. It’s tucked on a side street with plenty of free spaces right out front. No parking stress, which is half the battle for me when I’m deciding where to eat. They’ve also got both indoor and outdoor seating, and since it was a perfect sunny day, I sat outside. Totally chill, totally satisfying. Bottom line: if you’re just looking for a great little local burger spot where you’ll get a ton of food for a fair price, Choice Burger is absolutely worth it. I recommend...
Read moreI got their BLT and the ground beef crispy taco. The BLT wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything special. For the price, you get what you pay for. They had a good amount of bacon however the bread was no good. It was very bland, I don’t think they put enough Mayo or sauce. As far as the freshness I would definitely say it was very fresh and the bacon was crispy, it was just a bread that did itself in. The ground beef taco was whatever, Again there was nothing special about it.
There was one thing that was impressive here though, it was how clean the establishment was. The outdoor seating was impeccable, the inside was swept clean, and the walls showed fresh paint.
The customer service here I could say wasn’t good. The lady with the burgundy hair was kind of rude. I asked her if the taco came with any sauce and she didn’t say anything. She went back to the kitchen got a hot sauce cup and basically put it on the counter, looked away, and said nothing. Horrible communication skills. I told them it was my first time here and that I was gonna take pictures for yelp and Google reviews and if that’s okay and both of the employees did not say one word. What’s funny was that they were very talkative with a previous customer like for the longest time. I don’t know.... lol
I guess I should order burgers here, after all it is a burger place. For me I like to find burger places that serve other than their burgers something else of value and good taste To promote those “hidden” and underrated food items. Like George’s hamburgers on Commonwealth, They seriously have like the best BLT ever especially when you add an...
Read moreI was trying out different places, in search of a satisfying BLT sandwich. I thought this place would be a contender. First off, the counter gal and cook were very nice and friendly when i stopped in on my lunch break. I asked for the sandwich, the way i like it...lightly toasted, 2 extra pieces of bacon and extra mayo on the side. All seemed to be on point but then i went to slather on more mayo and i could tell right away that it was definitely not Best Foods mayonnaise but some other cheap brand that looked yellowish, not white like im used to, but it seemed to be fine. The bad part about my lunch was when i lifted the bread and see that they give me that horrendous piece of gross lettuce! (photo included) Whoever thinks it okay to use that stupid white nothing is ridiculous! Total deal-breaker for me. Call me finicky - too bad, how sad. I won't be back. But that's just me. Without the sh1tty lettuce the sandwich was good but pricey $17 n change with a soda. Just hate the fact they think its okay to use that trash on me. A plus, was the Coca-cola dispenser. Mmm it tasted just right! Mixed perfectly (in my opinion). They wont miss my patronage but i dont need that place either. I gave it a shot. Left me disappointed. But will keep trekking...searching for a winner! (thanks...
