This place needs to be shut down. They serving bad food that is likely outdated! I ordered jerk dinner, salmon dinner and pork rib tip dinner yesterday. My daughter came in town for Father's Day. So, my wife, daughter and myself all became sick to the stomach last night through this afternoon, having not eaten anything else. None of us finished more than half the meal. I called today to let the owner, cook, cashier, sole preprietor know about my experience to see if he would honor a return/refund. On the phone he said if you still have the food, I'll give you a refund. When I got there he instead said we ate too much of the food, lol. Again, if we had eaten more we'd all be more sick. Most of the jerk has remained cause my wife never eat much anyway. My daughter left 1 1/2 of the salmon pieces and most of the sides remained. I had a pile of tips uneaten but all fries gone( can't mess up fries) or they be outdated I guess. This might be my 2nd time ordering at this place but it's also the last. Yes, I left the trashy/unsafe food on their counter and left. He asked me if I would return someone money in that situation and 10 x over I would! But, everyone don't stand behind their business which is why they shouldn't be in business. Please, don't subject your family to hazardous/contaminated food that's already over priced! I rarely post about business but in a serious situation as this I felt it necessary to keep public safety. Good day, and happy father's day to all the upstanding men in any community. Attn: in response to the veiled apology that you didn't give me when I returned food that made me sick for 4 days. I don't want a discount to get sick, no thanks. Drove from Milwaukee again to eat here. I've been a total of 5 or 6 times and the food is declining. Red beans and rice was fire. The yams were good and the salmon was good too. But the Mac was trash, cabbage was a bit salty but had a nice crisp to them..now the greens were another story. They were chopped extremely small with lots of stems in them. The flavor was off, salty, a bit gritty and just all around not good. They guy did give me cabbage to compensate so that was nice. Just please bring the food back from 2021-2023 PLEASE Today was my third time visiting..I drive from Milwaukee just to eat here. I haven't been in a while and the lady that made my food the first two times was not there. I had turkey tips the first time and the second time I had her dinner literally lol she had just made fish so I purchased hers! Today I had the Samon dinner. The fish was extremly burnt on the scaling area..I just scraped it off no biggie BUT the yams were so soft and dark in color that I felt like they were from a can. Just mushy and not good. Read moreI'd love to give a review regarding the food but I can't ever place an order. I called at 7:49 on a Sunday to see what time they close and was told 10:00. Then I called at 8:30 to place my order and was told they're closed. I asked what about what I was told earlier, and she said that's they're usual close time but the chef decided they would close earlier that day. The time before I called to place an order and was told it would be better if I came in and placed my order because they were busy. Huh?? So y'all want me to come in and wait instead of waiting at home? Nah. Also called on a day they were clearly closed and Google said they were open. I'm done with these people and its too bad because I really wanted to try the food.
Update: so I came back with my husband a few days ago, he ordered the catfish fillets with jerk Mac and yams. Mac was good, yams were good. But that fish! He said it was over-charred and bitter. When I tasted it I saw why, it wasn't catfish, it was swai. Could tell by the taste and texture, and that's why the flavor was overpowering. Charging catfish prices for swai seems to be the move at a lot of these...
