My advice: go literally anywhere else. I couldn’t even trust the water here. This restaurant is not sanitary, sushi & food had a weird smell and taste, drinks were foul.
The Place Our table had an odd smell - like it was cleaned with a damp, dirty towel. When my friends and I went in, we had a gut feeling of “get out.” The parking lot is so dimly lit and it was almost empty on a Saturday night.
Service Our waitress answered all questions with an attitude/ snarky response. We asked simple things about the menu. We frequent various Asian restaurants- Runa’s in Tinley Park, Sushi Nova in Orland Park, Asian Harbor in Homewood and wanted to try something new. We have NEVER in the history of any place we’ve visited been treated so awful.
Food We were absolutely starving. So much so that we were willing to overlook anything because we just wanted to eat. I didn’t order too much, wanted to see what things looked like before ordering anything else. The fried shumai was frozen from the inside and burnt from the outside. The miso soup was horribly salty and the color was murky and questionable- unlike any miso soup. I kept wanting to give it a try: “maybe shumai isn’t their specialty or maybe the miso soup is just made different” but I couldn’t excuse every awful thing. The salmon was so disgusting I didn’t finish it. I threw it all out. My friends and I paid our tab as quickly as possible, left and found a REAL restaurant.
A restaurant like this should not stay in business. I felt robbed when I left: they stole my time, money, and joy. I’m not sure if the positive reviews are real- the ones with low ratings are on the nose so I think they are either paying for good reviews or there’s a lot of people that don’t know of better...

This was my first visit but won’t be my last. Went alone and sat at the bar.
Food: I had 6 of the fresh rolls and it of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The rainbow roll was absolutely amazing (my go-to roll). The prices are very reasonable: Specialty rolls are $10-12, and the basic rolls are 2 for $10. Most places in the area are charging $14-$21 for a specialty roll. The size of roll was perfect, not too big not too small and so much flavor in each bite. None of my rolls fell apart, just all around quality. The owner is from Korea so I’m disappointed I did not try the Korean specialties, but ordered Bibimbab to go. She recommended a few dishes for next time.
Atmosphere: People keep describing it as a “hole in the wall,” I disagree and describe it as “cozy.” It’s like you’re sitting in the owners living room watching Tv and eating. It may not be everyone’s vibe… but their right people appreciate it. Maybe not the place for a first date high school date, but two degenerates, absolutely.
Service: My service was fantastic. There was two people working, I believe they are both owners. The one that made my rolls brought them over with a smile, so nice. They are very kind and easy to talk to. I do not enjoy most people but I enjoyed their company. I read some of the negative reviews and don’t listen to them, they are incorrect. The owners are laid back, hard working and they might not tolerate Karen’s. 🤷🏻♀️ is what it is. They’ll tell you like it is and I’m here for it.

Read moreFirst time in Sakebob BBQ & Sushi. We were in the area and decided to try out this place. Upon entering the parking lot, I immediately wanted to turn around and leave but our hunger got the best of us.
Once we entered this shabby establishment, I said, "yikes this place needs some bright lights and a deep cleaning,SMH!" No one was at the front to greet us. So we took it upon ourselves and grabbed a table near the front. After about 5 mins or more, a middle aged woman came out but did not speak or ask how she could help us. Shortly after she came to our table with the menu.
Crazy of me, we still placed our order. We ordered a cucumber salad, calamari tempura, BBQ Korean Ribs, and "Easy Roll" sushi w/ a Pineapple Upside Down Cake martini. The glass seemed to be dirty and no pretty garnishing was added. The food wasn't to die for. The ginger root and sushi had a peculiar scent and the silverware was dirty. The korean ribs could have used more flavoring. I prayed the whole time hoping we wouldn't get sick.
As for the calamari, I still wonder how they managed to wrap so much batter around a tiny piece of squid? ( More batter than squid😢).I felt like my money wasn't well spent -
The service we received was basic as hell. Yet, I love how the waitress provided suggestive ideas and stopped us from spending more than we should have.
Cons: Pull-up appeal very low-key and lacking aesthetic appeal. No one at front when we entered. Internal ambience null and void Needs a DEEP Cleaning (I'd hate to see the back) Final Bill Too High For the amount of food given and poor...
