I ordered a steak burrito. I wasn't a fan of it because the steak meat is not cut up in cubes. Instead, it has a shredded beef consistency to it which made my burrito taste border line between a dried out Italian beef sandwich and a tuna sandwich. Yeah I know, weird right? They have two burrito sizes; a junior size and a regular size. He did not ask me what size I wanted and assumed I wanted the regular size which obviously costs more. I knew then that the guy was money hungry and even more desperate when he charged me 50 cents for a tiny dollop of sour cream for each burrito and charge me extra for two more green sauces. I also sorta went back and forth with the guy about considering getting a debit/credit card machine because no one really wants to handle money during a pandemic. His response was that they will charge him 40 cents per card-swipe transaction. Then I told him he should charge us customers for that fee so he wouldn't have to pay that service fee. Then I noticed him using hand sanitizer to wipe his hands after taking my money. SMH. I would of preferred him washing his hands with soap and water. I DEFINITELY...
Read moreJust ate here for the first time. Everything was delicious. You could tell the beans were homemade. The elotes corn had real Mexican cheese in it not Parmesan it had a little bit of lime in it which also which is how it’s supposed to really be made. I had a tostada and instead of it being soggy it was crunchy and delicious. When I have ordered it from other places it’s usually soggy by the time I get it home but not from this restaurant. Oh and there was three beautiful slices of avocados on my tostada also which I’ve never seen on a Tostada unless I ask for it. The people were very friendly as a service as quick as the place was immaculate clean as can be. I am a very picky eater. My husband says if I was a food critic there would barely be any restaurants open. So for me to write a review and give them a five star that’s a really huge deal deal. The only downfall is they are in like secluded area and I never even knew they were there before I googled Mexican in Oak Forest and it popped up. And I shop at the grocery store next to them a few doors down...
Read moreI was hoping it was more authentic than the majority of places in the area. When I walked in, I saw the stand with all the delicious treats and was hopeful. Then the person at the counter greeted me in Spanish and I thought this was the place I was looking for. I was pleased to hear him say "with onion and cilantro?" (In Spanish of course) instead of lettuce, cheese and tomato which isn't authentic and cheapens tacos in my opinion. I was also glad there was no "hard shell" nonsense. That is until I got my order. It seems that the tortillas were dipped in oil first 😳 😬 basically fried tacos. Definitely not what I was expecting. I had carne asada tacos and the meat was low quality and not seasoned at all. The salsas were mediocre and the horchata was watered down and just...
