So disappointed. On my first visit (several months ago), I had high hopes for this place because of the great things I'd heard about their food. I ordered three of the daily specials (I think it was a burrito plate but it has been a bit) and was not impressed with the quality or the taste of any of it. Willing to consider the possibility that someone in the kitchen may have been just learning the ropes or even simply having a hard day, I shrugged it off and told myself that I would try again another day. Well folks, yesterday was that day and let me tell you, I was let down even further than before!!! This round I ordered two chicken burritos with cheese, sour cream and guacamole; carne asada chips; something similar to a chicken quesadilla (can't remember what it's called); a 10oz side of guacamole and one jalapeno pepper. Altogether with the $5 tip we paid just over $40 for the meal. The girl in the drive-thru window was friendly and helpful, but after handing me the tiny clipboard and a pen to sign the receipt, she disappeared. At no point did she come back, not even to take the clipboard back! After a few minutes another employee came to the window and asked if we'd been helped yet. I gave him the signed receipt and he disappeared as well. A short while later he came to the window with two bags, shoved them at me without a word and disappeared yet again. It was a strange experience, and I had no idea if I had just received everything or not. I sat at the window for another minute, unsure of what I should do but thinking that it had been long enough to expect someone to appear in the window and I'd have an opportunity to ask. Right...? WRONG. I finally resorted to opening everything to find out if it was all there. (Affirmative, but so irritating!) Once home, everyone dug in....at first. Both burritos were missing the cheese, sour cream and guacamole we had paid extra for; the chicken in them was dried out and tasted nasty (quesadilla thing - burnt and full of the same disgusting chicken); the side of guac was runny and not seasoned well at ALL and the carne asada chips were stale and flavorless!! The ONLY menu item worth anything was the 25 cent jalapeno!!! I don't intend to eat here EVER AGAIN and if I could have given them ZERO stars I would have!!...
Read moreI have been here on three other occasions and they have been nothing but great. This time around was a different story, I ordered 5 sopes (2 cabeza, 1 chicken, 1 asada and 1 pork). I get home deliver the food to my wife and I go back to my shop. I get a call from her saying that she got 2 cabeza and 3 pork (the last three were missing their garnish, cream and cheese). So I call the restaurant and the girl was very helpful and apologised. I asked her what I should do with the rest of my order and she recommended to bring them in or to throw them away. So I called my wife and told her to throw the food away as it wasn’t what we ordered.
I get to the restaurant and they begin to tell me that I was wrong and they did make my food correctly. I did repeat the way my food was given to my compared to how I ordered it. But one of the cooks kept claiming he did nothing wrong and wouldn’t listen to my side. So I was stuck in a limbo with throwing away $20 of food, no refund or credit and a hungry pregnant wife.
So I bought a quesadilla to at least give my wife something to eat. I am hoping that this doesn’t happen to anyone else as driving to them is about a 20-25 min commute round trip from my place. It sucks because their food is really good but I don’t see myself recommending or coming back until things are made right.
Thank you for...

I've been here a few times and Maria got me a tres leches cake. Ordered two more times recently, and WITHOUT ASKING OR PAYING FOR IT, I received a tres leches with my order! For FREE! Bless you all, Maria, the cooks, cashiers, all of you! Thank you for being here. When I feel homesick for my food in Chicago.. I know where I'm welcomed with open arms and a tres leches cake!
2021: I’m a Mexican Latina from Chicago and having just recently moved here, from my neighborhood in Little Village, it has been SO HARD to find a good authentic Mexican place to go to that isn’t so “white-washed”. Well this place IS IT. I finally found the best taqueria. No bullsh*t like El Pueblito or overpriced Puerto Vallarta. THIS IS A GEM. I AM COMING HERE FOREVER. Best tacos and tortas I’ve had since...
