The Daily Reggae Cafe & Lounge — Restaurant in Bremerton

I've tried three times, and have been disappointed three times. The first time I went in, we stopped by thinking we could get a quick breakfast on my way to work. That was not the case. Despite not being busy, 45 minutes in I had to leave, my girlfriend stayed to get the food to go. The second time, we were there maybe 10 minutes before we were approached for our order. We were told they were out of avocado and eggs, so while not the worst thing, still a deal breaker since it limited the menu too much. The third time, we were sat and waited maybe 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. We were told "the other server will be out in a moment to get your food order". That moment was 20 minutes or so. Another couple who was seated after us had already ordered and received their food by this point. We put in our order, and wait another 20 minutes before it comes out. One plate is hot and fresh, the other is already cold and has obviously been sitting a bit. I tried, I really did. I want to support local, but it just feels like nobody here knows what they're doing. The coffee is good, the food is good, assuming it's fresh, but it's like there's zero front of the house experience, and nearly zero communication. There's not going to be a fourth...

I really want to give this place 5 stars but I simply can’t because they really need to hire at least one more staff person so it’s not just one staff person running things. We went in for a Thursday brunch and there were 2 or 3 groups waiting for food. There was 1 server and it seemed that she was running the whole restaurant. The server was phenomenal. She was so kind and very communicative with everyone about where she was in the process with there meals, but it is simply too much work to expect of one person. I can imagine it must get slow at times, but there were people who were clearly waiting on meals to take back to work and a table that hadn’t been bussed. The lack of staffing was the ONLY issue I had with this place and its because i found it unfair to the staff. Otherwise, the food was so good, the decor was fun, and our waiter was wonderful. We were really excited to have breakfast at this cafe, but after the 50 minute wait for our food the excitement wore off completely. We were there for a total of about an hour and half just for a “quick breakfast.” We could tell it was not the fault of the gal working, she did her best but they were incredibly understaffed. She may have been the only one there making food, waiting tables and on the bar. Her backup arrived late to his shift to help her. The food was about what you would expect for someone overwhelmed. The menu was incredible. The coffee and orange juice were fantastic! If they could add a couple more people to their shifts, this place would be much better.
