I have eaten at countless Cracker Barrel restaurants and this restaurant, by far, was the WORST restaurant I’ve ever visited. The hostess said to us that she had to make sure the table was clean and seated us (one of our companions were in a wheelchair) in a very tight location. This should have been my first clue that things were going to be problematic. Of course, we’d want a clean table. Why put someone in a wheelchair in a tight location? The waitress came to us and said she was slammed and we should have taken our cue from her and left the restaurant. We ordered drinks and fried pickles to start and she brought the drinks and later the fried pickles, but she forgot the utensils or napkins. We had to go to the hostess to get napkins. She then brought the hamburger steak and got the ordered mixed up and forgot the fried okra. We had to ask for utensils again and my fried shrimp meal was ice cold. It isn’t very appealing or appetising to send a meal back to be heated up - even my side dishes were cold. The other shrimp meal was cold, but my companion did not want to complain. The biscuits and cornbread were brought out late and we still did not have enough utensils to eat our meal. There was plenty enough food left over to package up and we did, but we were so put off that we will probably bin the food once we are home. The restaurant was understaffed and disorganised. It was 3 pm in the afternoon and you would think that would be a slow time, but the restaurant was very busy. We also saw another big group of people come in way after us and they were served before us - so I don’t know what to say about that matter. I also stopped to look around the gift shop and a vile pungent smell was wafting from the toilets - that about put me off my meal. We were generous with our tip despite the bad service but the waitress was nice and apologetic. The meal came to a little over $70 including tip for three people. They charged $3.49 for a diet soda - now that’s highway robbery! I definitely will never eat or return to this location. I highly recommend you reconsider your decision too!

Overall horrible experience. Stopped in for Sunday dinner. Restaurant was about 2/3 full. No waiting for a table. Waitress was quick to take order and initially quick on the refills. The parking lot, retail and dining areas were relatively clean. Thats where any positivity ends. Twenty-five minutes after placing my order I'm told that they no longer have what I ordered and was asked if I wanted to pick something else. (I checked my watch) No menu was provided until I requested one. Then I was told that pot roast and roast beef are the same thing. It is not. Once my order arrives the food looks like it was slopped on the plate, the gravy had a thick skin over it as if it had been under a heat lamp for a while, the chicken was dry, mashed potatoes had the constancy of being stored in refrigerator for a day (chunky, had a container imprint on the bottom of them) and the mac n cheese was luke warm and greasy. No silverware was provided when the food was brought out. The picture was taken while waiting for our silverware, which was another 2-3 minutes. The waitress was pro-active in addressing the fact I was "disappointed" that they ran out of the Sunday special and charged me for that instead of my alternate order. That grand gesture saved me about $1.20. I don't have an issue with the fact that the kitchen ran out of a promoted special. It happens. But only finding out nearly a half hour after waiting for my dinner and how the waitress addressed it is an issue. Compounded with the quality of the food makes me hesitant to ever visit a Cracker Barrel in the future. Definitely would never visit this location again; which is a shame as I have visited that location and Cracker Barrel in general for over 30 years. Never had an experience like this at any location. But after reading some of these reviews it appears this isn't an isolated incident.

I used to really enjoy Cracker Barrel, but unfortunately, this visit was a letdown. The food just isn’t what it used to be—bland, overcooked, and lacking that comforting, homestyle quality that used to set it apart. The biscuits were dry, and the fried chicken tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The restaurant the restaurant itself felt worn down and not well-maintained. What used to be a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere now feels tired and neglected. Even the gift shop, which I normally love browsing, seemed sparse and disorganized this time. Service was polite but noticeably slower than usual, even though the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. I really wanted to enjoy this visit, but it just didn’t meet the standard I’ve come to expect from Cracker Barrel over the years.

I am thankful that there is a Cracker Barrel near us. We don't go there often because the only thing I really like on their menu is the catfish, and I might eat catfish maybe once or twice a year. Their roast beef dinner is good, but the portion of beef is small and often quite fatty. We have gone there several times for roast turkey, but we have never had it because they have always been sold out. Their selection of side dishes is unique and tasty but, again, the portions are small. (We once suggested that a second (tiny) scoop of ice cream was needed with their Coca Cola cake, and we were given a lecture about food costs.)

The best part of going to Cracker Barrel for me is their store. I really enjoy meandering through it, and I will often purchase clothing items that you just won't find anywhere else.

UPDATE: We tried to place our order by phone but there was no answer (even though employees were later observed standing around doing nothing). We placed the order online and paid for it. They later claimed they called us to advise us that what we ordered was not available. We have proof that they did not. This would not have happened had they answered the phone. We asked to speak to a manager. We were advised that there were 2 on duty. We waited 20 minutes, and none showed. It took over an hour to get our food late on a Saturday night. Overall quality of the food was not worth the wait. We have had far too many problems with this Cracker Barrel location, and even though it is one of few restaurants in town, we will go to McDonalds before returning.

UPDATE: It's a wonder that this place stays in business. I thought I would give them another chance, so I went there for takeout. I saw some of the worst customer service skills I have ever witnessed. The primary cashier was unfriendly to the point that she was completely devoid of a personality. I was barely greeted, and when I announced that I was there to place a take out order, she pointed over to the hostess stand as if to say: "You're not my problem". It took quite a while for someone to tend to the hostess stand, and the primary cashier made no effort to find someone to help. She and an older woman were busy clowning around entertaining each other and just ignoring customers. I had tried to place my order earlier online and by-phone. Online wasn't working properly (as usual) and the phone was never answered (surprise, surprise). You know, the food just isn't that good at Cracker Barrel to put up with all of these issues. They need to train their employees, supervise them more closely, fix their internet issues, and improve the quality of their food . We now have a restaurant not far away that serves way better catfish and in a much friendlier and responsive manner.

UPDATE: It has been over a year since we set foot in Bridgeport's Cracker Barrel. My husband absolutely refuses to go there. They have lost our patronage forever. It's a shame because we live just down the road. They must not care because we have tried to reach out to them, and they...

This was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant.I had ordered food for the family off of their website. Food order was placed at 8:20 time for pick up was 8:47. We had gotten the Friday fish dinners. When we arrived at the restaurant and into the curbside pick up spot, the time was 8:45. We waited a bit and got a text with a link at exactly 8:47 saying we can check in when we arrive, our food is ready. So I clicked the link, checked in and waited. It was 8:52 when I received a phone call from an employee. I was told that they are actually out of fish and we could get a refund or substitute the meals for something else. Again this was at 8:52… meaning they hadn’t even begun to make our order yet. So I respectfully and politely told the employee that we would go the substitute route…I asked the employee to call me when the food it done so I wouldn’t have to wait at the restaurant the entire time… she said “absolutely! No problem!” And hung up. I then waited… and waited… and waited… until it was 9:45 and I called them up myself. I Asked to speak to the same employee who I had before so there was no confusion. When the employee came to the phone I had told her my name, readdressed the previous problems and asked her if she had an upgdate on my food… as I had now been waiting for a very long time. She said she would go check on it and I was out on hold for 11 minutes. Finally, she came back to the phone and said “yup! We have it ready now! Are you in the parking lot?” … I said… “ma’am I have been in this parking lot for over an hour now. I don’t mean to be rude… but I ordered food at 8:20… it’s now almost 10:00” she said she was very sorry and she would bring it out to me. When she brought the food, I had opened the bag and… turns out… my order was missing items that I had paid for. We lost a side of mashed potatoes, we had no drinks and one of our dinners for the fish was a 2 piece… we got 1. On top of that, the fried chicken tasted like it had been cooked in the same grease that the fish had been fried in. The chicken it self was fine, but the batter had a unpleasant fishy flavor. Needless to say. This was the absolute worst experience I had ever had at any restaurant. Absolutely awful. Will never be...
