I’m a lifelong fan of Whataburger, in general. I’m in Bridgeport often, so I was excited when they opened the new location there. Unfortunately, this location gives Whataburger a bad name. It’s so bad that they should genuinely be ashamed of themselves. Any place can have an off day, so we keep going back, hoping it will be better, but it somehow just keeps getting worse. They are consistently awful in one way or another. For example, late one evening, I ordered a double Whataburger with cheese, and when I got home and opened it up, it was two patties, no cheese, on thin, wet, WHITE bread. Not regular buns, and not even the Texas toast, which I didn’t order, but plain, untoasted white bread. What the heck? It was wet, sloppy, and inedible. I called the next morning to let someone know, and the lady (day manager, I assume?) said “Ya, sorry, our night team is a bunch of knucklehead teenagers”. That was it. No offer to make it right. The fries are almost always unsalted and soggy. The patties are often dry. The cheese on the burgers is rarely melted. They almost never put a single ketchup in the bag, even after we ask politely for “lots” of ketchup. And then something happened just yesterday that I’ve never experienced before at a fast food restaurant. Ordered the usual double Whataburger with cheese. Wife got a single with cheese. We parked there to eat right away, so we could get back on the road quickly. Asked for lots of ketchup, and there was none. Fries were unsalted and limp, as usual for this location. Wife’s burger was dry and warm (not hot), but edible. I took a bite of my burger and the meat was literally ICE COLD. Not room temp. Not slightly cool. It was very, very cold, as if it had just been pulled from a refrigerator, or maybe out of a freezer just long enough to thaw. Maybe 35°? How did that even happen? So I go in to let them know, and get a new one, and also to get ketchup. I told the lady at the counter that the burger was cold, as if it just came out of a refrigerator. She looked at me like I was silly, and said matter-of-factly “they do come out of the refrigerator”. It was as if that was the norm, and she didn’t understand why I would have an issue with it. She had them make me a new one, which was slightly warm, dry, with the cheese loose and unmelted, but at least it wasn’t ice cold. So ya, the food handling and quality control there is scary bad. Making it worse, the way they respond to issues and treat customers is poor, even by fast food standards. A little bit of effort would go a long way. The location 20 minutes up the road in Decatur is consistently solid. We’ll be driving past the Bridgeport location from now on to get to the one in Decatur,...
Read moreI sincerely hate to be this way, but because my issue is consistent and re occurring I feel at this point I need to bring this to management and upper management eyes….
This is coming from an irritated but understanding place because from the ages of 15-25 I worked fast food; window, food prep, all of it. I even took a step up and went into catering/catering management before becoming a hairdresser where I also manage. So I would like to say that I am fairly familiar with the food industry/ food management industry ; that being said..
My friends, Family and I frequent this location, we were so excited to have one closer to home because the one in Decatur is “always” busy and I usually find they’re staff rather rude. But going back to my first experience at the Bridgeport location to now I am completely dissatisfied and disappointed sense my first visit
. “Night Drive thru” from a management point of view really needs to step it up. The food either comes out cold or I didn’t at all get what I asked/paid for. I find it a very important matter that the public is being given they’re orders hot and correctly. I ordered larges and was charged for larges and turned around and received smalls…. If I’m paying the extra money for the size desired then I expect to get what I paid for, I even asked for the order to be read back before receiving my order in which it was read correctly but delivered wrong and over charged. It is completely asinine that I get charged for larges and receive smalls.
Especially in a time period in which prices are getting ridiculous and every penny counts, with that in consideration why are we not double checking the orders before they get to the customer? I will be emailing/contacting upper management/owner for...
Read moreMy recent visit to the Whataburger in Bridgeport, TX, was both exciting and slightly unexpected. We arrived late, around 1:30 AM, after placing our order on the app. This particular Whataburger is relatively new, and we were thrilled to have it as a convenient stop on our frequent travels through the area.
However, what caught us off guard was the sight of five cars ahead of us and a 20-minute wait for our food. We were tired and starting to feel a bit frustrated. But, during that time, we observed the hardworking staff and could tell that they were doing their best.
One issue we noticed was the double drive-through lanes, which seemed to be causing delays, especially in the outside lane where we were positioned. In my opinion, they might consider coning off the outside lane at night to streamline the process.
To their credit, an employee had to step outside to verify our order, and he was pleasantly surprised when we mentioned that we had ordered on the app. He promptly returned with our order.
Now, here's the real highlight: the food. I've eaten at many Whataburgers over the years, and I must say, the food at this location was some of the best I've ever had. My wife wholeheartedly agreed. It was delicious and definitely worth the wait.
All in all, I hope they can work on improving their speed, but the outstanding taste of the food makes this Whataburger in Bridgeport worth a visit, even if you have to exercise a bit of...
