This is a review of the canteen (cafeteria) inside Balaji temple. after Darshan, I guess one must visit the cafeteria, I loved their tamarind rice & Pongal. you can find many options on the menu and I guess prices - that's shocking, none of the items are above $5 and I don't know how they are managing it ( I guess it's a non-profit cafe). in this inflation time, how one can sustain providing quality food under $5? We ordered Pongal, tamarind rice, Bisibelbath, samosa, Lassi, Mysore masala dosa. Loved their Pongal, simple yet great taste. there is an option for to-go as well. Same old system: Order at the counter (there are 2 counters), get a token number, go to the food counter, give the coupon, and collect your food. ample seating arrangement. On Weekends- the cafeteria gets full and there could be waiting for ordering, and collect your food. Coat checking, water, and bathroom facility are there.

"I am thrilled to have visited the Balaji Cafe @ -Venkatesh Temple for the first time! I was amazed to see multiple Indian gods and the Grah Parikrama, which left me in awe. The temple was radiant with light and delight, filled with the sweet scent of real chandan (sandalwood). The priests were busy performing traditional pujas in different areas of the temple, creating a spiritual ambiance. I had an imagined experience at the veg canteen area, which was a delight. The temple's energy was palpable, and I felt a deep sense of peace and connection to the divine. This visit has left an indelible mark on my heart, and I look forward to returning and experiencing the beauty of Balaji Temple again."

The food quality in this temple's cafe is excellent. I do have a suggestion though - When I went there, I noticed increased wait times due to the long queues. I had to wait for upto 45 minutes to get the items we had placed. As most people order 'Dosas', I am guessing that the kitchen becomes busy in a short while. But the customers who order simple items like idly or pongal are waiting due to this. My suggestion is to have 2 separate queues, one for those ordering dosas and one for those ordering anything other than that. This will greatly optimize the waiting times.

Awesome place. Serene, but due to lot of building development, the place has become a little bit ruckus behind the temple, where the Car Pooje is located. Inside the temple, is well maintained, spacious, good place to leave your shoes and slippers. then wash your hands and feet and enter the Temple. Lots of different Hindu gods in one place. Great way to spend some calm time here. Later take the temple prasada. Downstairs is a small little cafe, where they prepare good food. This is another attraction for some individuals, who want to get away from cooking at home, but still do not want to go to a hotel. Prices are good, but over a period of time, there is a price increase due to inflation. In between there was an exchange of management, and food was not that great, but now it is back on track. Anyone visiting NJ, will not...
