No doubt the beautiful area of Island Pond was a very special place to Native Americans for thousands of years- in rmore recent history it was special to those who rode the rails from Monteral to Potland and stopped in this train hub town. Now what we find very special there is the little gem of a restaurant , "HOBO's". Run by a Dad and his master chef son, the ribs and brisket we experienced there were off the graph in flavor. Everything was fall off the bone quality with stunningly good rubs and barbecue sauces home made by this very talented chef. The restaurant is right downtown and has a railroad motif to complement the town's history. Everything was spotless with fast and attentive service. Do yourselves a favor - take a beautiful drive through Vermont to Island Pond and visit Hobo's for "to die for" ribs.

Had an ok breakfast here on eclipse day. Although the atmosphere was good, the service was unfortunately extremely slow - we waited for nearly an hour to be seated, and then another hour to be served, presumably because of the large crowds in town for the event. The breakfast was also just ok - the brisket hash omelette was on the bland side and the toast was decent but a bit overdone for my taste. The beans were amazing, however - would definitey have those again if I had the chance.

Three of us had breakfast here on 7.16.22 and we were immediately greeted by Bob. Our waitress was fast and friendly. Got my coffee before I even looked at what to order. I didn't care for the deep fried home fries but everything else was great. The brisket flavored beans were our favorite. This place is a bit dated but that's just part of the Island Pond environment. Come as you are.

We came on the day of the eclipse, when hordes of folks from out of state descended on this small town. The folks running the restaurant were wonderful. We waited a while for the table as the kitchen was overwhelmed, but we expected that (and had nothing to do but wait for the solar show anyway!). The staff were SO nice to our group of 7 (the 4 kids sat at their own table). The food was EXCELLENT. I had a delicious breakfast sandwich, the kids loved their pancakes, the bacon was cooked perfectly, and all of the members of my party loved their food. The owner was friendly and continuously made sure everyone was happy and the bathrooms were clean (they were! so clean!). All in all, this was a great place to eat full of lovely people in a delightful and friendly town. Highly recommend, and we will be back next time...

I ordered two blueberry pancakes with home fries, they asked me if I wanted onions in my home fries and I said yes. When they showed up they did not have any onions and they had so much salt on them that after taking three bites I started to develop a migraine from the amount of salt loaded on them. Unfortunately for myself they placed said home fries directly under my blueberry pancakes on tbh plate so that when I went for a bite of my pancake they were also extremely salty to the point that I could not eat the lower pancake that had been touching the home fries. So for $14+ I ended up with one blueberry pancake, an order of bacon that was so very oily, and a lackluster...
