A bar should be neutral ground. A place where strangers share space, where stories unfold across tables and glasses. In my games, the bar is often a cutscene hub—a location where bonds are forged and the player exhales between missions. Gleason’s Bar in Levittown fails at this most basic function.
The staff here did not create an atmosphere of welcome. Instead of hospitality, I felt exclusion. Instead of connection, I felt hostility rooted in prejudice. Racism is not simply bad service—it is a breach of the entire concept of community. It transforms what should be a safehouse into enemy territory.
In Metal Gear Solid, betrayal always comes from within. A trusted ally reveals themselves to be something darker, and suddenly the mission changes. That is the sensation here: stepping into a place expecting camaraderie, only to feel the quiet weight of bias in the air. It corrodes everything—the food, the drink, the atmosphere. Nothing matters once respect is gone.
A bar without trust is a failed base. A staff that divides instead of welcomes is not just unprofessional—it is destructive.
One star. Because no matter the drinks, no matter the prices, racism poisons the entire experience.
Gleason’s Bar does not serve community. It...
Read moreBest wings I've had in a long time. Perfect size, fried perfectly, and the hot and honey sauce was mixed perfectly. The cheesesteak was pretty good. I'd give it a 7. Not the best but far from the worst. The waitress was really nice and the outside seating was nice. This is my wing spot whenever I'm in the mood for wings I will never waste my time going anywhere else. Went there with friends and had a chicken cheesesteak hoagie, a panzarotti and wings (Hot N Honey, Guru, Tangy BBQ, Hot). I wasn't a fan of the panzarotti. It was an oversized fried pizza roll with more dough than filling. I'd give it a 3 if I had to give it a rating. I'd give the chicken cheesesteak an 8.5 and the wings were great as usual. Hot N Honey are my...
Read moreHad a great experience. Being in the Bar and restaurant business for decades but now living the early bird life since giving it up, I have to say that having entertainment from noon til 2pm doing something I never even heard before (Music Bingo) with Rick was a very fun experience. Food Great. Service Great (thanks L and others). Thanks to a guy named Larry who recommended Gleesons to us. My wife Karen and I (Donny) will definitely be regulars now. Don't know who the owners are but know from experience you are doing something right. Thanks again for a great afternoon, will be bringing others next time we go which is in 2 weeks....
