I will never go back here and if I were you I WOULD AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST..... We had sit down and started eating but come to find out the handle on the knife was pure nasty dried covered in food and we had already ate off the fork and didnt even notice the knife and the actual knife it's self until we had needed to cut our sandwich some to share and my lord to our surprise it was filled full of tomato sauce and dried food i instantly lost my appetite and was ready to puke this was disgusting and the lady manager who came to table was like oh its just rust probably pilled up and coming off the knife like it was no big deal.. she gave us 20% off and not the entire meal which was WASTED and trashed this entire meal should have been free and never a charge for it as we didnt eat after noticing the filthy utensils. This place is pathetic with customer service and staff, im waiting on a call from the owner and let's see if i get one, health department has already been notified of this contaminated experience and will be checking into this restaurant they said, take my advise go somewhere the staff wont laugh at a bad experience and that they will actually care more about sanitary dining and the customers experience. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. I DO EXPECT OWNER TO GIVE A FULL REFUND IF THEY DONT IT SHOWS THE TRULY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AT ALL.... SUPER BAD DINING EXPERIENCE WORSE PLACE IVE EVER BEEN IN TENNESSEE ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10 FOR BEING CLEAN ID GIVE IT A 2... Im just thinking how nasty that fork was from touching that knife which the fork we had ate off of, well off to hand sanitize my mouth.. community locals find somewhere else to dine... this place still charged us after this bad experience and didn't even care about it or how nasty it was the female manager or waitress whatever she was just looked at it and shrugged it off like oh not that big of a deal she said its just a lot of rust coming off and rust build up cause it probably laid in bottom of dishwasher awhile she said , well it clearly was tomato sauce, and lady like eating piles of rust would be any better and either way that should have never been given to a customer, your insane. this is bull the female who handled this situation needs to be FIRED for charging us for the meal and also needs to be fired for letting this slip and be given to a customer this is beyond an accident this is pure lazy and unclean staff.... I will make sure everyone I know never goes back to this place.it clearly was contaminated dried lots of food how could someone rolling silverware not notice that unless they were blind or high or just didn't care and thought it didnt matter. well it DOES MATTER and the owners need to take action about this incident quickly! because this is unacceptable!.... this just shows a lazy unclean staff and uncaring about the customers all this restaurant cares about is taking your $$$$$.. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!... ignore the positive reviews most are probably from friends or the staff making fake reviews no way could this place have good reviews with how they...
Read moreUpdate They admit to giving only a 15% discount (which does NOT cover the $10 at all) and the mistakes. Still no apology or acceptance. I have the receipt, which on MY END shows feta and hummus. It's not my fault they use a faulty third party website. Said was incredibly rude and did NOT apologize or fix the mistake. 15% does not cover $10, not sure how difficult that is to understand. It is also incredibly unprofessional and a breach of trust to post someones full receipt with their partial phone number and credit card number. SHAME on you. I see how the owner responds to negative feedback and other customers. Check the other reviews for how they offer discounts for messing up orders. I've learned my lesson. I should have just contacted my bank instead of going to them. The food can be good, depending on the day. My issue is with the manager, Said. I ordered the baked ziti, alfredo and the mediterranean plate online. For the plate, I chose feta and hummus. I picked up my order and got home to see no feta or hummus. I called the store to let them know I had received a few pieces of falafel, but not the other things I paid for. The lady on the phone was very apologetic and said they had tried to call me, but when they couldn't get through just made falafel for me instead; since they were out of hummus and feta. I asked since I was at the store, why did no one tell me then? I said it was not okay for me to pay for something I didn't receive. She got the manager (Said) to call me. He was not nice, by any means. He kept saying that other people choose double falafel sometimes, so I should be fine with it; they tried calling me to warn me but chose to just make falafel instead. I told him that's not okay, because I got something I didn't pay for, didn't get my items, and there were only a few pieces of falafel. He kept arguing, saying on their end it didn't even say hummus and feta. Well if that's true, why did the lady at the restaurant AND Said both bring up hummus and feta? He finally said "Well I guess I can give you a discount for the next time you come in, just give them your number." I relented, since nothing else was going to be done about it. I was tired of arguing. I place an order the next day, and surprise surprise, no one at the restaurant knew there was supposed to be a discount. The front desk lady had to call him and get the discount, since he wasn't at work (he wasn't there the day before either) He ended up giving me $1.95 discount. Yes, that totally makes up for the $10 I paid for items I didn't get. I'm not asking for free stuff, I just wanted my items or my money back. In conclusion, Said was very rude and pretty much stole $8.05. I won't be eating there again, which is sad since the statf and main boss...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I got to have a last minute date night so we were wanting to grab some food before catching a movie so we decided to try out Giovanni’s for the first time... we walked in and was greeted by the girl at the front counter, she seemed really nice, she grabbed menus and seated us. We sat there scanning the menu trying to choose what to order out of many great options when we realized it had been a hot minute and no one had even came to take our drink orders. I am a patient person, so I assume everyone was busy and it may take a few extra minutes with it being Friday night and all (even though the dining room did not appear to be busy) we waited a bit longer as we watched 3 or 4 different associates pass us by while avoiding eye contact. I was unsure as to why it took 2 or 3 girls to clean off tables next to us and how they had time to stop and chat with one another, but had no time to check on a paying customer when we were clearly sitting there without drinks or food. This is unacceptable! Communication with a customer is the key to good customer service, it would have made a world of difference if one person had stopped to check if we have been served or even stop by and say “hey! We are short staffed or we are sorry about he wait but someone will be with you ASAP” anything would have been better than being completely ignored. I read a similar review (they got to eat but similar as in having to wait and became unhappy with their visit) and the manager replied saying “you should always talk to a manager before you leave the restaurant” I completely disagree with this! If anything, the manager should be visiting tables and asking if customers are satisfied with service. It is not our job as paying customers to have to flag people down or track down a manager AFTER we have became irritated, especially when the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. It’s supposed to be a luxury for people to get to go out to eat and take time out from our busy lives. As long as they are paying for service then they should be priority In any business, because customers make up the business. So no, after being ignored for 10 to 15 min, I won’t sit there for another 10 to 15 waiting for a manager to come out of hiding to speak to us. We got up and walked out. However, I believe everything happens for a reason because we ended up trying another restaurant for the first time and it was spectacular service! So the night was saved! We will probably give Giovanni’s another try but maybe at a different...
