Sluggo's Sports Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Brookfield

I was here with my elderly dad on July 17th. The food was decent, and our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Just as we were about to leave, my dad goes to use the bathroom. A man sitting at the next table get up and tries to use the bathroom as well but obviously couldn't because there is only one, and my dad was in it. I saw as the man walked back to his table and griped about someone being in there for an hour. A few moments later my dad comes out and walks back to our table, passing the man. The man says pretty loudly to his companion "it just had to be a nigg*r". I told the man he was out of line. He immediately denied saying it but I heard him plain and clear. I then tried to get the staff's attention. They all looked on, but not one staff member came to see what the issue was. I said to them "these are the type of people you patronize?" The bartender or manager said "you can't blame the company". I said "yes I can, because he's still sitting there". She said "No one else heard him say it. We're not going to act like children". I said "I am not a child! How do you know who heard what? You haven't asked anyone anything. You haven't moved from behind the counter. Do you think I'm making it up? I just randomly picked that guy out of the entire restaurant?". They just let the guy sit there and asked him nothing. They didn't investigate anything. The fact that the bartender /manager did nothing except stand there is terrible. I will never go back to this place ever again. Terrible terrible terrible. What an incredible discovery! I was told Sluggo's has been in its current location for many years. I grew up in Wauwatosa... why did it take so long for me to find out about it?! Sluggo's is exactly what the name says it is, pub and grill. Friendly, casual environment makes it perfect for lunch or a drink and dinner. While the menu appears to be your standard bar fare, Sluggo's kicks it up a notch! Whoever works in the kitchen really puts their heart into everything that comes off the grill. I ordered a simple patty melt with fries. I can't say it was gourmet but it tasted fantastic! The meat is high-quality and was cooked to a perfect medium-well... no blood for this boy!! The cheese was creamy and melty, while the onions were sautéed to that perfect texture. I am not a big fan of soggy overcooked onions where the taste is grilled right out. And the marble rye bread, YUM!! It was full of complimentary flavor and toasted just right. The rye wasn't over-powering, as it can sometimes be. I'm not a big eater and usually take 1/2 my meal home with me. This was so good I cleaned the plate!! My guests felt similarly about their chicken sandwich, Philly cheesesteak and 3-cheese grilled cheese and bacon sandwich. It was the regular grilled cheese and she ordered a side of bacon to put on it. We got there at 4 p.m. on a weekday, so it was a bit quiet. A number of people were surrounding the bar, we were in the dining room and there was another group on the patio out back. Our server was just perfect, not a vulture and not a ghost. We were at Sluggo's about 15 years ago and wasn't that great of an experience. So, after that stretch of time, we went back a week ago. This past Thursday was our second visit in two weeks, and looking forward to next week for the chicken.

7/7/23 Visit !!!

We started coming to Sluggo's about 3 months ago, and now we're coming weekly. The food is great, and t the staff is the best. So glad we stopped in to check it out. We had the pizza for the second time, thin crust is so very good. For a Friday night, the place was humming, but the staff made sure to take care of all their customers.

Had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich today, and it was so very good. Friendly staff, customers, good drinks, our own Cheers.

We've been trying to get there weekly since June of 23. Trisha is so kind, had been away for a few weeks and when we sat at the bar, she greeted us with her awesome smile. Had the chili, so very good, just a nice place to spend some time at. Don't change anything, Sluggos' is successful due to the staff and food, all so very good.

As always, the food was great, the adult beverages were great, but most of all, the staff at Sluggo's is why we keep coming back. Visiting Sluggo's must be the same as Norm visiting Cheers!!
