Chism's Diner — Restaurant in Brookhaven

We found this online and decided to check it out because of the good reviews, and we are delighted to report that this is the best restaurant in Brookhaven. The owner, Chester Chism will greet you at the cash register while you peruse the menu on the wall behind him, and he will gladly answer any questions you might have about the menu. We both had cheeseburgers and onion rings. One thing you will notice is that the hamburger is authentic, made with real beef, season to perfection. This isn't your typical fast food hamburger, this is the best hamburger you'll ever eat in your lifetime. The onion rings, also authentic, are to die for.

We went back to Chism's Diner the next day to sample other items on the menu. The Philly Cheesesteak sandwich is better at this restaurant than it is in Philadelphia, PA. The meat of the sandwich melts in your mouth. As far as I'm concerned, you will not get a better Philly Cheesesteak sandwich anywhere on planet Earth. I took two bites of this sandwich, and reordered another one for my midnight snack. I should have ordered a third one for breakfast the next morning. So if you live in, or get a chance to visit Brookhaven MS., this should be the first and only location you should eat at. Everyone in the diner it's hard at work creating masterpieces that will melt in your mouth. Pricing is very reasonable as you will not have to spend more than about $30 for two people. So when I come back to Brookhaven Mississippi, this will be the only restaurant that we will eat at for both...

No meatloaf here! This is not your typical Diner, put more of a chicken and fish place! While they do have hamburgers, the menu is filled with fried foods from Catfish and trout, to Hush Puppies, chicken, Etc. They do have gumbo and my catfish was delicious, even though I went there looking for meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans! The outside looks dismal but the interior is beautiful bright and fresh and clean! The only vegetable to be found is coleslaw! I also got fried oysters which were very good even though I normally do not...

Food has been very tasty. I've only visited twice. Catfish is prepared very well. Burgers are very tasty!Fried okra was a miss for me. Staff is personable. Will definitely visit again!!! My mother and niece had a disappointing experience and the management, on duty, did nothing to rectify the poor presentation of the order. Having an issue, is not the primary focus. It's how the issue is handled. That's what is remembered and passed...
