Groundling Pizza Co. — Restaurant in Brookings

This is a gem in Gold Beach! The topping combos are unique and with elevated ingredients compared to regular pizza joints. It was hard to choose. We chose the Hawaiian which had large chunks of pineapple, thin slices of ham, and gorgonzola. Amazing!! We also got the Balls of Fire which had meatballs, large leaves of basil, and spicy red pepper flakes. The combo of flavors was perfection. Their crust is like none other—crispy with a bit of chewiness on the inside. I’m not a crust person but I had to finish mine this time!

The lovely drunk patron on her way out the door told us we had to try the s’mores dessert calzone, so we did! It was an amazing warm goodness with marshmallows, Nutella, and crunchy little graham cracker flakes. We loved sitting on the river and the views of the seals. We would have loved outdoor seating and it was a little warm sitting by the wood fired oven. We were also sad they were out of mushrooms so we couldn’t order the Fungus Amongus Pizza! Next time! It was so hard for us not to come back our second night in Gold Beach but we needed to try other...

I recently had my wedding reception at Groundlings Pizza and it was everything I imagined.

We had been a few times before and fell in love with the river view and of course the amazing food!

The owner Danny was so easy to work with. He has a very laid back approach that I appreciated so very much. I was able to drop stuff off the morning of, had my sister in law set everything up and then returned the next day to pick everything up. (Which Sam had cleaned and packed everything up for me and thank you so much!!)

We had a plethora of pizza, salad and meatballs that were flying off the platter. Props to the crew cooking! Sam and Faith were bartending for us and the drinks were delicious! We even got to try a special drink Sam had whipped up!

I could not recommend Groundlings Pizza more, we look forward visiting yearly!

I came here because of the reviews, and WOW, everyone is right!!!! This pizza is second to none. The "no shame" pizza with added prosciutto was literally addictive. And the service....let me TELL YOU about the service! We called to find out if they would be open for 4th of July. They were not, but actually and politely took the time to tell me exactly were we should go to eat and enjoy the fireworks. Then, when I came back today, they rolled out the red carpet for me! This place was PACKED! THE PHOTO I am uploading has all the people erased for privacy, but it was bar room only. The pizza meistro came and took my order and made suggestions..I feel so cared for by these folks. My service dog laid quietly at my feet, but there is an outdoor patio for furry friends if needed. The atmosphere is delightful with a beautiful view of the river, light music, gentle chatter, and the crew serving us all with love. Truly a destination restaurant....
