We had a family celebration - our beloved aunt’s 88th birthday - at the A & M. She enjoys eating here and is a frequent flyer here. We had called to let them know and they said we could all go to the back room. Great! When we called to confirm this it was oh, did I tell you, everything is on one bill and there will be a 25% gratuity. We cancelled and said we will sit randomly in the restaurant. We all get there and were told the only way to accommodate us was by sitting in the back room. There were 14 adults, 3 year old and a baby. Begrudgingly, I agreed. When we walked through the dining room, there were very few people there. I thinking, “Hmmmm” they couldn’t accommodate us. Most everyone got the buffet. The ones that ordered off the menu had a ridiculous wait time to get their food! I was told at least the one who ordered a hamburger was cold. When I paid the bill and saw what the tip was I couldn’t help but think, the servers would have had a bigger tip had they let us pay family (6). The issue is/was is that not everyone had cash to reimburse the one who paid the bill. This is because the said to sit randomly). The waitresses were wonderful. This whole thing was handled poorly! Will I go back? NO. Will I recommend them? NO!
You have errors in what you are saying. It was my brother who called. Yes he called to change the time. This is when you told him that everything would be on one billAND there was a 25% gratuity. He called me and after some conversations, we decided we would all just sit where ever in the front. My brother called back and asked for you but you were not available. I can’t recall the lady’s name he talked to and told her to cancel the reservation that we would all just sit where ever in the front. Obviously, there is a communication problem there. The amount of time it took to get the food for the ones that ordered off the menu was not acceptable no matter you look at it. The ones that ordered off the menu knew the buffet people would be done first. The hamburger that my brother got...
Read moreThe only reason this place got one star and only one star is because the waitress was nice and was attentive. This was our first time at "plyler's world famous Buffet" and we thought it was going to be a great place to go tonight and in the future since we don't live very far. NO! NO! NO! Not even close! I am not an extremely picky person I like a lot of varied foods and tastes but the tastes and Foods at this restaurant are totally terrible And to add insult to injury, after your done eating what you can keep down in the first place will come up when they give you your bill! Their prices are greatly over what you might expect definitely not worth the money. And the pies that are in the cases when you walk in look wonderful but they taste like fake filling on cardboard. You can get a better meal at Kwik Fill! There is also an Arby's and I think a Burger King there also which I go to any one of those before I go to plylers again! UPDATE we decided to give them another chance and this time it was actually very good and the service was good. We ordered off the menu this time instead of having the buffet and we liked it a lot. We thought maybe the reason for us not liking the buffet the first time we were there was because it was on a weeknight and obviously the buffet just wasn't up to par. We're going to give them four stars this time and we are...
Read moreWe stopped here for the first time tonight on our way up from Pittsburgh. We’ve passed it tons of times but never went in before. We waited a little while for silverware and drinks because the server we were supposed to have was on break. Not a problem! We understand going on break and I have been in the industry myself for years. What was a bigger problem was the other server, a brunette, who showed absolutely no team spirit. She was actually the one we requested silverware from and she did not bring us any. Instead she went to find out server, proceed to yell at her, and wait for her to bring us our stuff....it would have taken her 30 seconds to grab two rolls of silverware for us. She also was yelling at a third server who was busy with side work to clean a table instead of just being a good coworker and cleaning it herself as a favor. I would have hated to have that person as a coworker. Anyways the manager was very very friendly and made sure we felt taken care of despite the wait. I really appreciated the gesture and it shows how much she appreciates business and wants everyone to feel like family. Our actual server was very sweet and attentive! The food was tasty and there were plenty of options. I did not have any dessert, but my fiancé thoroughly enjoyed the cake and chocolate chip cookies. We will definitely be back! Thanks...
