Family Table Restaurant — Restaurant in Brown Deer

The website advertises that they are open until 7:30 and the signs on the front door says dine-in available until 7:00. Last week, I went in past 7 to order carry-out and the man at the desk had no problem taking my order. Today when I tried to do the same, it was a different person at the desk and they said they are closed. I pointed out that the front door says they are closed for DINE-IN. They just said the kitchen is closed. Funny, because that was not the case last week and I just wanted one item for carry-out. I told them that they should change their signs because they just wasted my time with their false advertising.

Now, if there was a problem that required them to close earlier than advertised and explained that, then I would just accept that. Instead, they just said they were closed as if they did not feel like working until the advertised closing time.

Too bad their food is good and I like some of the people that work there. Otherwise, I’d give a 1-Star review. But, I am definitely not giving them any more of my money if they act like they can just pick and choose when to serve customers instead of adhering to their own advertised hours. Hell, at least McDonald’s employees will at least lie and give a plausible excuse when they don’t feel like serving customers. Overall, this was my favorite place to eat and I am very disappointed.

On top of it, nobody from the establishment even seems to bother looking at the reviews. No appreciation comments for good reviews or even half-baked apologies for negative reviews. I certainly don’t expect a response for ever review left since there are dozens of them, but is always encouraging when a business shows at least some engagement with reviews online reviews because it demonstrates to the public that they value our feedback and do not just ignore constructive criticism. With that, I doubt my review will make much of a difference, but I hope it at least helps...

I used to have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant but today's experience has turned me off. I'm usually the girl who orders the same thing and finishes it completely. Like scrapping the plate clean. My order consists of a Belgium waffle with fresh blue berries on the side, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and turkey bacon, crispy not burnt. Nothing was good. The waffle tasted like corn bread. I informed the waitress and she had the cook remake my order. Again the waffle taste like corn bread. I asked for a replacement of toast and hashbrowns. The toast was dry and tough. The hashbrowns were greasy...like staining the plate greasy. By this time my eggs are cold and the turkey bacon too. Now let's talk about the bacon. I quickly noticed it was very thin. I took this to mean that they have gone with a different brand or vendor. It made me question the quality of ingredients the restaurant is now using. I am disappointed and sadden that I have to say goodbye to this place. On top of all that I was fully charged. I shared my experience with my waitress and the cashier. I don't mind paying my way in life. I wasn't looking for a free meal but I received zero compensation for my bad experience. I'm a regular tipping customer. Today proved customer service is not their #1 focus. I dump boyfriends quick so saying goodbye to this restaurant...

Absolutely horrible! The waitress was very rude. She did not give us her name and she basically slammed our food on the table and threw condiments and my 80 year old grandmother. Our food came out cold and when we expressed our concerns our waitress walked away without saying a word! We tried to express this with the manager who attempted to argue with us. He told us that “at a restaurant you will always get cold food.” And that we were at fault for waiting so long to voice our concerns. We informed our waitress of the cold food 15-20 minutes before we were able to speak with the manager. Instead of addressing our concerns we were informed to leave and to not come back and that pp like US always try to get a refund. We were completely shocked at the service we received! My grandmother was embarrassed. If I could give this restaurant negative stars I would!

We will NEVER come back to this establishment and advise you to to do the same! Management treated us as we were a table of poor black ppl who wanted to find reasons to complain. As if we could not afford the food we ordered and that was definitely...
