Not happy with the way we were treated.
We are regulars at Baldos restaurant - by regulars I mean we dine in or take out every Friday not once in a while at least every Friday of every week of the year and have been for more than 15+ years.
This is no secret people do not go to Baldos to save money on the cost of dinning we go there for the food and the service - on average the cost to eat here is 30 percent more than other restaurants of this type.
Most Fridays are busy we understand sometimes waiting for a table takes 20 to 30 minutes no big deal it is what it is.
This Friday pretty much the same a little busy we were told 20 minutes for a table we waited 45 to 50 minutes - our name was called just like it has been every other time we have been here we get to our table sit down as we are putting in our order the hostess comes to our table and informed us that we have to give up our table for someone else.
We were told you have to give up your table - not can you move to a smaller table or a different section in restaurant or we made a mistake are you ok with giving up your table to a larger party NO - we were told you have to give up your table to someone else.
I thought the hostess was kidding you know joking around with us being that we are here every Friday - I had to ask her twice are you serious.
We were given no reason just you have give up your table for someone else and go back to the waiting area for probably another 10 to 15 minutes.
We dine out on an average of 3 times a week for the past 40+ years I have never been told you have to give up your table to someone else after we have been seated and go back to the waiting area.
I do not mind over paying for food here at Baldos as I stated above it is what it is over the years of coming here we expect it - we have other choices that cost less - we chose to come here.
It does not bother me to over tip the wait staff as we do every Friday.
I do not mind waiting in the crowded wait area just like everybody else does - it does not bother me to give up my seat in the waiting area for less mobile and or elderly patrons.
You more than likely made us give up our table that we waited 50 minutes to a larger party that comes to your restaurant once a year if that.
I am not looking for free food, we are not looking for money off our dinning not really looking for anything just thought you as the business owners should know how we were treated.
In my opinion not cool - regulars keep you in business and your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am beyond disgusted at the Customer Service at the front desk. The young lady at the front desk was completely rude to me. She messed up on my order, forgot my husbandās chicken fettuccine, then when I came in politely to tell her she made an error, she stated āyou saidā in a very rude unprofessional manner as if I had no clue as to what I was ordering. The lady next to me referenced that their always messing orders up as we conversated.
I specifically said over the phone that I was ordering food for myself and husband maybe her listening skills did not kick in. My husband and I have been going to this place for yrs now as downriver residents, the last time my noodles were not done, now this. Our dollars are worth just as much as anyone elseās. The owner did not seem as friendly either as I witnessed him tell a lady that she did not have to interview for a job (wow). I received no greeting, which is pathetic and Iām surprised their still open this long.
I asked the tall brunette younger hair girl if there was some way I could give feedback and she told me they did not have a place where you could leave feedback, luckily I found it myself, she told me to go to Yelp as if she did not want to give me that information.
Iāve gone to 5 star restaurants and have never received customer service at this levelā¦thereās no people of color in this place, which speaks volumes, not sure if I were the wrong color that day or if the girl had some serious issues, but they will never get another dollar from me or my husband again and I will spread the word as a professional reviewer. I suggest customer service etiquette skills be inherited into their restaurant values as a qualification.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not sure how this place gets such good reviews. All of our dishes were near flavorless, the chicken had a very odd texture, bread looked like it was going to be good but had zero flavor, the seafood pasta was very fishy. In fact on the menu it states that it includes scallops, mussels and shrimp. Iām not a fan of mussels so I asked for none of those. Ok, not a problem. Food comes out and the pasta has shrimp and scallops but also what appears to be tiny mussels. I asked the waitress if it could be corrected since I ordered it without mussels and she states āthose arenāt mussels theyāre clams.ā (Iām sure you can imagine my confusion here.) So I said āwell the menu just says scallops, mussels and shrimp so Iām not sure how I got clams either.ā (At this point Iām starting to get annoyed for multiple reasons.) Waitress walks away to check the menu, comes back a minute later and says, with very little concern, āhmm well I guess it does, do you want them to remake it?ā Umm yes? By the time it came back we were pretty much ready to leave because we were just overall very disappointed and the booth seating was super uncomfortable, obviously very worn down and sinking in. Took a couple bites and it just wasnāt worth it. Extremely disappointed that we spent over $100 for one of the worst meals weāve had in a long time. My husband is a chef and can be picky about stuff but even he commented that he wouldnāt eat the pasta based on the smell alone. Maybe we all ordered the wrong dishes, idk, but we wonāt be giving this place...
