Emilia's Restaurant — Restaurant in Brownsville

Food was ok, until I found hair in it. Top it all off service was HORRIBLE! Can’t even make up for anything. On Google, says that this place closes at 10, but when we got there our waitress Karen was VERY rude and notified us about the restaurant closing at 8pm, it was 7:40pm. When we asked about why Google says 10pm which was why she came she rudely replied with an attitude and continued to state “We’ve been open for years and it’s always been like this”(was said in Spanish) I continued to reply still with kindness how we’re from out of town and didn’t know. They still allowed us to eat here, but honestly we should’ve just left. No refills were ever offered, Karen had the WORST attitude and from a distance she would stare with her coworkers and honestly made it obvious they were speaking ill of us. By 8:10pm i again felt like someone was staring, and when I turned they were all staring at us talking about us and one came up stating, “ Hey, SERIOUSLY, we are closed and you guys have to GO” (said in Spanish). Mind you we got there at 7:40, why take us in if you’re not going to allow us to enjoy our food and rush us. Then stand there and speak bad about paying customers in which are the reason WHY your business keeps running. My family and I are frequent customers at Emilia’s for the most part it’s good and Service is as well. Today was the most unfortunate experience. Only 3 of us- did not order anything out of the ordinary: Carne Guisada, plain hamburger and fries ( dry burger); shrimp tacos, 2 teas and a water - that is our usual order each time we go. TODAY Server brought carne guisada plate 15 minutes later I approached cash Register attendant and asked for the rest of our meals, 7 minutes later server brings tacos 10 minutes later he brings burger Needles to say, we had to wait to eat it until they brought the last order so our food was cold. I asked the server what the situation was and he said he had no control over how the kitchen distributes the orders. Person in our party who is mentally challenged went to RR. It was super filthy. For him to mention this speaks volumes to us. I certainly hope it’s not a reflection on how they keep their kitchen and further preparing our meals. I would have given a lower rating, but 1 star is too high for our experience today. After years of coming and enjoying our meals, today is the last meal we will have there. Good evening everyone just wanted to share the unfortunate experience that my family and I had today at this restaurant. My oldest son ordered a large menudo for dinner. When we got our plates my son noticed that there was a piece of glass in his menudo. So I called the waiter and he immediately apologized in behalf of the restaurant. Asked us if we wanted to change our menudo plate for another menudo in which I disagree due to the fact that how can they guaranty me that there will not be anymore glass in there. We changed the plate and ended up getting a piece of plastic in the plate that we got replaced with. I just gave up with this place. Then to end the night I told the person that charged us in the front of the inconvenience that we had and it was like if they didn't even cared they just wanted to end the day and go.
