Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Brownsville

I placed an order at this location on July 22 for two large pizzas and a side of jalapeño bites. When the order arrived, the side was missing. I called and spoke to both an employee and the manager. The employee confirmed the jalapeño bites were still at the store and said they had no drivers available to deliver them. The manager assured me I’d receive a refund within a few days but never provided a confirmation number—and unsurprisingly, no refund ever came.

To make matters worse, while eating a slice of pizza, I bit into a small twig. Their toppings are placed under the cheese, so how a twig ended up there is beyond me. This raises serious concerns about cleanliness. I can only hope it came from a vegetable, but honestly, who knows? The pizza itself was already disappointing, and after finding a twig in my food, I threw the rest away. It wasn’t worth risking my health.

I really enjoyed watching the process of how they work the dough. It felt like the real deal. I ordered an extra large pepperoni and a large chicken alfredo pizza. I don't know if maybe the show of how the pizza was being made set the bar too high in my mind, but the flavor itself was a little bit on the bland side for me. The pizza was very filling, though. I will return to try other pizza toppings, possibly a bacon cheeseburger...

Oh wow! What a great pizza place!! This has one of the BEST pizzas I've ever tasted. I love pizza, but I usually suffer whenever we do happen to get some because the sauce hurts my stomach, and I end up paying the price later. Not with Papa John's!
