The Sandwich Shop & Deli — Restaurant in Brownsville

Go to The Sandwich Shop quite frequently. However, on more than one occasion my order has been incorrect. I have never said anything about it till today. I asked for NO mayo, Italian dressing instead. Came with mayo. So, today I finally took my incorrect sandwich back up to the counter. The guy was like I'm so sorry, like me make it right for you. Great. However, his idea of making it right was to try to wipe the Mayo off and then put Italian dressing on the sandwich. It tasted awful. It upset my stomach. So, I said something to him explaining that what he did wasn't ok. I then took the Sandwich back to the counter. The 2 ladies I spoke with were super nice, but suggested I speak with the owner since it was her son who made the sandwich. So I waited to speak with her and explained everything. She did offer to make me a new sandwich, but I declined because my stomach was extremely upset already. Get response to me was (in a nasty tone), "Where is your sandwich at?" I said I gave it too the other lady. As if accusing me of eating it and then wanting a new sandwich. She then responded with "Well I'm sorry your so upset over something so little". Umm, it's not really that little when I felt like I was going to be sick. And it's not the first time my sandwich was made wrong. But, I finally spoke up about it today, and this was the customer service I received from the owner. And how did she know if I was actually allergic to mayo or not. Very disappointed in the whole situation....

My wife and I ,stopped in here yesterday,(11-17-22),for our first time. Let me tell you, this place is awesome!!! The selection of hoagies was great,the soup selections on this day made me want to try each one, but I tried the banana pepper stuffed with sausage soup!! Awesome awesome awesome!!! I’ve never had this soup before today and let me tell you it was just awesome!!! I don’t know how else to describe it, if you’ve never had it before but ten stars!!! The cookies and brownies we got was delicious and I didn’t mind gaining the poundage from enjoying these munchies!!! The girls that work here all treated us with smiles and great helpful personalities. The bagels,plain,with cream cheese that my wife and I got,was just beyond words for the taste of both the bagels and the over the top taste of their cream cheese!!!! We didn’t know what we were missing all this time, but believe you me,we will be as frequent as customers as our time allows,and if you haven’t been here yet and tried them out, which we’ve got one of their menus,and we want to try everything on it, then get down to Snowden Place,quick,fast and in a hurry,cause your taste buds are gonna love love love...

This was my first experience here and it was AMAZING! I ordered through Door Dash. I got the half sandwich/soup combo. I got the Rachel sandwich and the creamy chicken and dumpling soup. I plowed through that bowl of soup like nobody's business. The flavors were spot on and completely balanced. Creamy but not too creamy and just the the right amount of chicken, veggies, and dumplings. The sandwich was mouth watering, right down to the sauce on it. My only complaint is not getting the whole sandwich. I'm sad that it's gone. 🤣 Also, I was so excited to see cabbage and noodles on the menu. Good old Hunky food just like my grandma used to make. The store even messaged me through Door Dash to confirm what kind of soup I wanted. Excellent customer service! I cannot wait to tell my husband about this place and go back to try...
