My mother and I have ordered from the Brunswick location on a regular basis throughout the Pandemic. One reason is safety. This is the only take-out place I have seen where the staff wears both masks and protective face shields. My mom is 76 and has breathing problems so her not getting this virus is very important. I deeply appreciate Amato's dedication to customer safety especially at this time. The other reason is the food. Top notch subs and pizzas every single time we have ordered. During the season (usually May-October) I cannot recommend the lobster roll highly enough. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Amato's has been our go-to take-out/delivery restaurant for decades now.
Edit 8/7/22: Still enjoying Amato's! Another reason is corporate governance. Employees are well compensated with salary and a benefits package which includes profit sharing, paid vacations and insurance. These are the kinds of responsible actions we want companies to take with the workers and I intend to support it as...

As someone who has worked in food and customer service for a long time, I saw this as a serious health and allergen issue.
I most likely won’t be going back given the situation. Trust me, i understand as well as the next food service employee that changing gloves as often as what’s recommended is tedious, but the regulations are there for a...

For whatever reason, I find this Amato's is the most convenient when I am up in Southern Maine. I make it a point to go to Amato's (in general) when in Maine.
I almost always get the 'original' sandwich, which never fails to impress me. The flavors are sharp and crisp and tangy, which meld together perfectly to add a refreshing flavor to the day.
The whoopie pies here are a perfect blend of cream and soft cookie/cake. Another thing I make a point to purchase.
My most recent dessert purchase was a molasses cream cookie. This item is not stocked at all Amato's, which is a shame. It's a soft cookie with a delicious cream filling, that works perfectly. I generally don't like molasses cookies, but this one had me visiting four different Amato's before heading home- empty handed, unfortunately.
I most certainly...
