We used LA Bayou Bistro to cater a work event and had so many issues. What is worse is that when I finally got caught up at work and had the opportunity to send the complaint email to the catering coordinator, my response was: "I am very sorry for these issues, however it would have been very helpful to have known about them the next business day apposed to 3 weeks later." So you provided a service, the service was bad, and your response is to complain to me about how long it took me to complain. This was a work event and catering is only one small part of my duties at work. I do not recommend this place for catering. These were our issues: • When we began to put the food out to be served, we discovered that the 3 vegan dishes we ordered were not included with the delivery. • We called and were told that there was nothing showing vegan dishes had been ordered. These dishes were listed on the invoice that was sent to us. The manager we spoke to attempted to make up for this by fixing something quickly and bringing it out. While we appreciate the attempt to make up for the mistake, the quality of the vegan food was not great and our vegan guests were unable to eat until after everyone else had been served and were done eating. • I ordered mashed potatoes and we were provided with potato casserole, which tasted fine, but contained bacon – many of our guests even those who eat meat, do not eat pork. We were not aware the dish contained pork, because we thought we were getting mashed potatoes. This was very embarrassing as some people do not eat bacon for religious reasons and were served this dish. • We had plenty of salad but unfortunately much of it went to waste because the salad dressing packets that were provided with the salad were expired as of 10/30/18 and the dressings were watery and tasted bad. This would have been great for the vegetarians, but the dressing was bad. Also the serving utensils, which are included with the catering, were not delivered and the delivery guy had to come back to bring them to us. It was a...
Read moreDefinitely not how I remembered. We visited last Friday evening. I wasn't aware that the buffet was only during certain times. Cool either way so we decided to dine-in. The food was mediocre at best. For appetizers we ordered bbq wings, cheese stick, and boudin balls. Nothing to write home about. Wings had a decent flavor but not enough sauce. The sauce was hit or miss. On top of that it we only received all drums/leg portion. There was not 1 flap. The cheese inside the mozzarella sticks was very smoothe which I liked. Other than that they nor the marinara sauce were very flavorful. The boudin balls were just okay. None of the appetizers we ordered were good enough tonsay I would order again. The cost is a bit on the pricey side for the appetizers and the portions were not enough for the price ( boudin balls & cheese sticks). Also, apparently the night we went it was all you can eat fried shrimp but we weren't made aware. I heard another server informing her table. For entrees we ordered hamburger steak with two sides, and fried shrimp platter with two sides. The hamburger steak was exceptionally good and seasoned very well. However the brown gravy that was used on top of it and the rice black labor tremendously. The mustard greens were decent as well. The fried shrimp were good. However, the plate did not include a double side of fries like requested it was more like a single order. I can't speak on the buffet since we did not have the opportunity to try it. Straddling the fence to determine whether or not we should go back just to...
Read moreDon’t eat here. The establishment itself has a weird odor and the food is subpar. Me and some friends asked for a few entrees to go. Once we got our food, we discovered there was hair in one of the plates. After the 30 minute long wait for just fried rchicken and rice and beans, we filed a complaint with a manager. At this point we all didn’t want to eat at a place that doesn’t keep up with employee hygiene so we just wanted our money back for our food that was untouched. The manager came out and said he didn’t BELIEVE me and had me show him where the hair was as if I would lie about that. The waiter that served us and a few of his counterparts agreed that we should get our money back full price. When trying to explain to his manager, he just replied “they work for me” and ignored his subordinates. He also refused to refund me the whole number of our 47 dollar ticket and told me he will only refund the plate that was “damaged goods” and it would have to be in cash, when i paid by card. The unprofessional manager then proceeds to tell me and my sister that we look like we “start trouble”. When all we wanted is our money back due to a mishap in their kitchen. Thank you to the waiters that tried to stick up for me, but management of Bayou bistro definitely needs to be reevaluated because they have a lot of potential to be a...
