Iâm terribly sad to write this review but itâs my hope that Christopherâs will read this and improve upon it. We have only lived in the area just under 2 years. We have visited CWG on three occasions. The first was for a nice date night. The service and food was impeccable. It brought us back on November 21st 2017 for my husbands birthday dinner. Again it was a total success! Yesterday December 21st 2017 was our four year wedding anniversary and we again chose CWG for our dinner celebration. This time was below average especially for Christopherâs. I will now list the issues: We arrived and were told our waitress would be right with us, she was at the table near us chatting with them about their coffee. The gentleman who sat us then returned again later and said she would be right with us (again). We then had another gentleman come and ask us if we would like a cocktail or wine. My husband wanted red wine but wanted to hear the specials first for his meat choice. The gentleman was surprised we hadnât heard them yet. We hadnât even received a hello from our waitress. The gentleman took our wine order as well as our appetizer and dinner order. We finally received our water. Our wine and bread followed a little after. The tapenade we received had no oil. My husband requested regular butter that he then had to request again. Middle way through the crab cake appetizer we received an additional tapenade with oil. Then the waitress who came to refill our waters spilled water all over the floor by overfilling my husbands water. I guess she knew it would be her last time to bring us water because we never received a refill of water after that. We received our entrees and when mine was placed I thought I heard her say swordfish, I ordered redfish so I thought with the service we had already incurred she must have been mistaken or misspoke. After a few bites I knew it was not reddish but the swordfish. I didnât eat but three bites. I didnât want to make a big deal because I couldnât be sure I only knew personally what I believed the fish to be. Like I said we also never received a water refill so my husband finished his water and then had to share mine. Also typically my husband has his side always switched to a vegetable he will actually eat, when requesting the other two times it was never a problem but this time the gentleman kind of made it a problem and was saying how they canât just subout the side for a different side (from pepper medley to a veggie medley). My husband doesnât eat a certain food and your making him order it or suffer through an easy change? I though it was slightly rude and an unnecessary inconvenience really. I had my fish of some kind boxed up, when it was returned to me it read swordfish. At that point I asked about the price difference between the swordfish and redfish, it wasnât as much about the cost difference but the fact that I did not receive what I ordered. I pointed to and showed the gentleman what order I wanted as well as my husband speaking it to him. For it to be an incorrect order should have been acknowledged but instead when the waitress came back to tell us the price difference she said and I quote âgood news you get to keep your swordfish and we changed the price on your receipt to the redfishâ well then thank you for letting me keep my food that I did not finish because yâall got my order incorrect. I am so privileged to be allowed that leniency. What my husband later stated to me was that CWG should have taken it off the ticket completely for their mistake. But I am not done. Like I said we were there for our anniversary, the service was subpar and I just wanted to leave. I always get a dessert but this time I was ready for the ticket. She ended up bringing us two chocolate truffles to celebrate even though she did not acknowledge our anniversary or us hardly all night. She delivers us these truffle balls with no silverware and no acknowledgement that we are completely out of drinks and have been for a while. I shouldnât have to ask for a refill of water. Truly...
Read moreWonderful food but close tables. The staff, food, was amazing. Only complaint was for how expensive the food was they sat us in a room with a bunch of other tables. It was louder than I would expect for the experience. I was expecting it to be more quiet like The Republic Steakhouse. We could hear most of the people around us conversation. The food was pricey but hands down amazing. I got the Sea Bass and would so get it again. My husband got the Bacon Wrapped Salmon which was amazing too. Both of our meals we felt were a great amount of food for the price. We got the special to start with which was 4 big shrimp for $15. We would not get this again. Kind of felt like it was a rip off for the tiny amount of food for the price. I guess I was just really disappointed that for the restaurant to be as slow as it was that we had such a crowded experience. If the restaurant was busy I would have expected it but it was Slow and they still had us sitting on top of each other. I would recommend spacing out the tables more or not putting people right on top of each other. There was a pour couple that they sat at a 2 seater table right behind us that I would have left if they had sat me at. My friend that recommend the restaurant said it was quiet and romantic, which is why I was willing to try it. Maybe I just had to high of expectations, or was expecting it to be more private. Would have been my new favorite restaurant if it wasn't for the seating thing for the price of my food I just really hated the on top of each other seating for not even being busy. The waiter was amazing. He kept our drinks full took plates away as soon as we was done. I can't not speak more highly of the waiter he was great. Food came out quicker than I expected for being such a nice restaurant. Everything was perfect except all of us eating in the restaurant being in the one same room in the building. There was 2 or 3 other completely empty rooms in the building and they sat everyone that came in within a table of each other. Our ticket ended up being $130 which we expected, food was worth it, other than special. Would go again if table or seating change might even request next time for them not to sit people all in one room next to each other. I get that only wanted to clean one room when they got off work, but to seat everyone right next to each other in one room was a Deal Breaker for me. I would give it a try at least once bc food was great.
Edit to previous review. Food was wonderful. They spaced the tables out better tonight. Was 100% more enjoyable atmosphere. Waiter was amazing and...
Read moreDrinks are amazing! All that I tried were fabulous! I recommend the Italian Margarita & the Lemon Drop Martini! The appetizer yum! We had the Brie and apple app. The dessert (creme brulee) amazing! Probably one of the best I have ever had. The problem was everytime we needed something, our waiter was nowhere to be found...I felt like all night all I was doing was trying to hunt our waiter down. This was supposed to be a date night. Come on guys! We frequently visit the finer restaurants around town and this was a first for us on service! ...very disappointing..then, the main course comes. The vegetables were cold and raw. I didnt eat most of them and I normally love squash and zucchini! I wasn't going to say anything but then the bill comes and they charged us extra (I guess cause we split a meal?) But they neglected to tell us. What really bothered me also was we watched a large group get seated next to us and the waiter was very attentive to them yet still passed us up several times as if we weren't even there. I even tried to get him to redeem himself at the end because I overheard him telling the larger group a really exciting long story about the history of Christopher's! I heard bits and pieces but was dying to hear it again. I asked him if he would tell us. I was so excited to hear it as I had never heard the full story. Sadly, he gave us a very shortened version of what he had given to the bigger group and left me again, disappointed. Wow. In the end, we made the most of our night and the horrible service we received and spoke to the manager who refunded some of our money. Because of that & because of the drinks and most of the food, I am ranking a tiny bit higher than I would have and also, we will probably be back but we will probably ask for a different waiter/waitress next time. I will also update my review in the future if we have...
