First time visitors, Saturday night. We decided to stop because the parking lot was fairly empty. We were not greeted. When I asked for a menu the host rolled her eyes as she threw me one. She seemed annoyed and there were TWO tables. She did not ask if we wanted a seat or a drink or anything. We intended to get a couple ciders while we looked at menu/made a takeout order. Other server was busy dealing with a bridesmaid group (with flights and tiaras and all) so we knew it would be dumb to try to bother her. We bothered our host again. We never got a drink menu, so we looked at the food menu and figured out what we might want while she grudgingly poured ciders. We ordered. We finished drinks. Food came out in boxes. We were asked to pay by the other server who never even seemed to notice us. We did not investigate the food, it smelled good and we needed to get out of that weird atmosphere. We opened the boxes when we got home. The salad we ate immediately, and it was great! Really. The 'Italian' dressing must be from a bucket, but it was ok. The pizzas we picked were the Apple Bacon Cheddar and the Margherita... SO. Let's say first that the crust was awesome. Sturdy, perfectly cooked, great taste. The cheese content of each was also just right. Here's where I have an issue: aside from the fact that nobody seems to care if we will come back or not, the menu should reflect how the pizza will be made, right? A Margherita Pizza, whether or not fancy or proper, has basil on it. Your menu says so. If you are out of basil and decide to sneak some watercress on there instead, you should probably tell us. Or the kitchen thinks anything green qualifies as basil, which I can't believe. Apple bacon cheddar pizza, on your menu, says only that. Sounds great. It doesn't say RED SAUCE. If it had, I would've asked to leave it off. It was weird and overpowered any other flavor. We probably would've liked the apples, even though they look weird and are way too chunky for the size of these slices. Oh and we added onions- because we like them- but it seemed like they were just thrown on the top at the end and left to sit. In conclusion: it's been a rough couple years, we know. But you guys really need to step it up in service and correct orders or you won't have repeat customers. There are not a lot of places around here that have the potential you have... and we are willing to give you a chance so I hope next...
Read moreTo start the 4 star is conditional on timing. I went when the restaurant was fairly new and there was a massive flood in the many cities in this area, get to that point later.
Great set up when you walk in, with many different items for browsing and purchase. A little slow on the greeting there but easily offset for the first time browsing (less than two minutes). Quick seating and a selection on low-top, high-top, and bar seating. This would be a great place for large groups, to my knowledge one of the only ones in this town.
They were out of the first drink we all ordered, but quickly got that info from the server. The cider was string and beers were good, not mind blowing, but would come back for them if in town again.
We ordered two pizzas to split. We were informed immediately that pizza would take a little longer to make as they were busy. As noted in the beginning they are newly opened, but in my mind half capacity is not busy. However the pizza wad good. Crispy ultra thin crust, plenty of sauce, toppings and cheese. Delivery was slow as warned, but the serve was very polite, friendly, and attentive in the interim. The space was a little loud at times, however it appears the owners are aware and have begun putting sound board above to help with that.
When I went the men's bathroom smelled bad. I will say they clearly had cleaned it hard and recently, but behind the odor was a bad smell. I will note the aforementioned flood, which could have affected drains. The female bathroom was reported to be spotless and smell good. Also was told there are sinks in the stalls, so it would be great for bringing kids to the bathroom.
Overall a very strong opening, especially for the area it would be high on the list. New openings are hard for any place, but it was balanced by decor, staff attention and general quality. While the review has criticisms, I got the impression multiple points would be resolved in time, hence the four...
Read moreI would nominate this place for a Gordon Ramsay rescue to get management straightened out and CONSISTENCY.
I served here starting April 2023. With close to ten years of serving experience on and off, I walked out after 5 weeks. The staff itself is pretty wonderful, and so is the owner, Steve! However, they are handcuffed by Deborah's disorganization and penny-pinching energy. The kitchen does what they can, but read these reviews and you'll see a ton of INCONSISTENCY, SUBSTITUTIONS (that Deborah just OKs hoping you won't notice, WHO DOES THAT) on what amounts to over-priced microwaveables. Pizza oven is legit but expect inconsistent toppings on good crust. It smells like stale beer all the time. Make sure your napkins, if you get one, don't stick to the table before getting settled. I'm not looking to insult anyone who says the food here is good, but I do implore you to peek into the kitchen, on your left as you walk thru the corridor across from the restrooms, to check out their process. Order your food then go back there and watch them make it. The manager, she will HATE that. The alcohol is made with love but sold under harsh pretenses. If you don't like it, too bad, you can go (is the energy she puts off, sans refund). Many reviewers citing stale beer, sour beer, etc. These people are correct, OBVIOUSLY, but she will pass the buck to their taste buds instead of swapping out the keg or CLEANING THE LINES. Yuck, that place is disgusting. Lacey is a Rockstar. I pray for her sake she has moved on.
TLDR: If you have a good experience, you are very lucky. You were charged a predatory rate on the "food." ...
