It was a bad day during the pandemic and I called in a lunch to pick up curbside and this woman was very polite and I’m sorry I didn’t get her name but she had large glasses and a soft voice very thin and kind person and she took my order and have it ready in 10 minutes and loaded it up in the back of my van and told me that they took social distancing and everyone wears masks their customers and their employees at all times and I told her my experience in downtown Buchanan the day I was there during COVID-19 when the executive order was still Legally stated that anybody owner and customer must wear a mask indoors unless in their own homes and several businesses in downtown Buchanan were not abiding by that.
I am proud of this business is abiding by these rules and she was proud that they were and she said to me that she understood and she was very young but she said to me that she understood that if she didn’t wear a mask she could be responsible for getting someone sick or spreading something or protecting someone was her job and is all of our jobs so we were having this great conversation and understood the importance of wearing a mask at this difficult time during COVID-19 to stop the spread and save lives and save peoples health.
As far as the food is always delicious and always fresh baked goods and many different coffee and tea selections and they will make changes in their sandwiches if you have allergies or issues but it’s always amazing home baked quality that was just comfort food for a day that was a called fall day. Thank you girl in glasses as you made my day because you understood what these two antique dealers in the town did not understand which was the priority of protecting peoples lives by wearing masks, social distancing and keeping everything clean and washing hands etc. and this company is doing it and I trust them. I applaud them! Thank you Union Coffee house for making our family feel safe w product...
Read moreWas out and about running errands, and found myself especially hungry yesterday morning, so I stopped into this cute little spot by the name of Union Coffee House & Cafe. Feeling the need for a pick-me-up, I opted for some coffee as well as a bite to eat.
Today, I picked up The Love Affair latte, which has in addition to espresso has vanilla, almond, and nutmeg. With the vanilla and almond being more subtle flavors in the drink, it really allows the space for the nutmeg to be the star of the show in this delicious love triangle. Used oat milk for the base to make this a wonderful plant-based option.
In between sips, I also enjoyed a carrot muffin, baked to soft perfection. For a vegan muffin, it was actually one of the better ones I've had. Oftentimes they can be a bit dry, but this little pastry was baked to perfection. With an earthy sweetness from the carrot, this muffin paired very well with The Love Affair for a great start to my day. Looking forward to...
Read moreStopped in today . First time. Cute, cozy. Dirty Chai tea was good. Not great, like I was expecting. But okay. Had turkey gouda sandwich. Very disappointed, but maybe JUST my tastebuds. Ordered it with multigrain bread because I prefer breads with texture. Maybe this was my problem. Took food to go. Bread and sandwich itself were SO incredibly DRY, and tasteless, I threw it away. Bread literally tasted stale. Was dry enough that it was crumbling, and falling apart. Raspberry mayo I was so looking forward to tasting was spread so thin it wasn't even detectable. Had to LOOK to make sure it was on there.😕 I am however rating 4 stars, because the ingredients ON the sandwich looked very fresh. Would try again however. Maybe jyst get a coffee of some kind, and dessert or baked good. Service was good also....
