I will never go back. Just an FYI I'm here from out of town visiting my Mom with my daughter, we're staying at Aunt's house in Buellton, she was out of town during our visit to Ellen's. My Mom, daughter and myself walked in and were seated right away, the hostess was okay. A few seconds after being seated the waitress (a dark haired 50ish woman) came to the table. Based on the look on her face I thought she was angry with us. She asked us what we would like to drink, we said we would like three waters, one with no ice. She walked off without any acknowledgement of our request. She came back and plunked down 3 water bottles and one cup of ice on the table, she then sees the look of confusion on our faces and in a very kurt tone tells us they're not serving tap water, she then turns and walks away from the table without providing any additional information. So, I open my water and start to drink it. My Mom and I had a quick discussion about the waitress and water situation, then after a few minutes the waitress returned to our table, my Mom asks if we are expected to pay for each water bottle and waitress informs us that the water bottles are $1each, she then walks away with no further explanation. My Mom then says the last time she visited Ellen's they didn't serve tap water. At this point I am frustrated as I will drink 5 or 6 of these in one setting adding $5 or $6 to my meal cost for an already over priced breakfast and the waitress is treating us like we poked her kid in the eye with a spoon. I decided that my daughter and I were not going to stay and my Mom agreed and we got up to go. When I entered the building from the outside patio to pay for my water I was met by our waitress who asked if we were leaving in an accusatory tone. I responded with "Yes", she then informed me I did not need to pay for the water. We walked out and ate somewhere else. Still bummed I didn't get to try the...
Read moreThe food was horrible for the price was like eating at a restaurant that serves small portions of food, if I could rate no stars I would rate as such. When I had mentioned the food was smaller than my wife and I had went before the food was a bigger and better portion. I mentioned to server about food and the owner john came out and belittled myself and my handicapped wife telling us that we are never to return to restaurant because we were talking about food. The ham steak was 1/3 portion of actual steak and the omlette was small and looked precooked not worth the price. The hashbrowns were like mashed potatoes. When we sat down there was no 6ft distance between patrons. No temperature checks at the door. Most staff was not wearing masks properly. I asked the server to clean table because it was dirty they told someone else and the person came with a dirty towel to clean table. Very disgusting! When I saw them cleaning areas of tables they were using clean towels and spay bottle to clean but I had dirty towel. The owner seen it and came to belittle myself and my wife whom is handicapped. We were so humiliated and embarrassed from owner who did not apologize until I told him to it was not sincere his exact words were "it is what it is". The worst place anyone can be during a pandemic and the worst...
