Wanted to try somewhere new and not a chain in the Buellton area and decided to try this place for lunch. Kind of a run down exterior, but that often doesn't mean much for good Mexican restaurants. This however just ended up being in need of an update all around. The one server was friendly and immediately welcomed up and got us our table and drinks. The menu looked decent, but was surprise to see only one burrito option. That being said, I do want to come back to try some of their whole fish since that is something relatively hard to find around here. My wife ordered a chile relleno and I ordered a chile colorado burrito. We got our meal very quickly, within 5 minutes. We hadn't even had a chance to touch the chips and salsa. The burrito looked good and was of decent size, especially for the price. The chile relleno however was the opposite. It looked unappetizing and deflated, probably 1/2 the size at best of every other chile relleno I've seen. The plate was unusually hot with the relleno dish as well, so it seemed even more so like a reheated dish. The burrito was decent, but the meat seemed bland compared to other chile colorado I have had. Over all it was a decent experience especially considering the price and service. I'd give them one more chance, but I don't think I'll try them for lunch again.

Included in the beautiful little city of Buellton, CA along California's Pacific Coast on Highway 101, is this little restaurant. We ate at this wonderful Toños Mexican Restaurant, where the Huevos Rancheros, and Buellton Enchilada were the best we've ever had before. They set their standards high in comfortable, peaceful surroundings, excellent food, and excellent service. Hope to be able to make it through again some time.

Food was good, service was great. They actually let us order something that wasn’t even on the menu and it was great. Could stand to be updated but I was glad that we chose to go here rather than the breakfast/lunch place up the street that made us feel like we were invading their space as soon as we walked in the door.

If you're anywhere near Buellton and craving authentic, soul-satisfying Mexican food, you absolutely must find your way to Toño's. This isn't just another Mexican restaurant; it's a vibrant, flavorful experience that will leave you dreaming of your next visit. From the moment you step in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere is palpable. The friendly staff makes you feel like family, and the delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen are an irresistible invitation.

what truly elevated the entire meal was their Diablo salsa. Oh, that Diablo salsa. It's not just "hot," it's a symphony of flavors with a fiery kick that dances on your tongue. It's the perfect balance of heat and depth, and it complements everything on the menu. Seriously, I put it on my tacos, my rice, even a little on my chips, and it transformed each bite into a culinary masterpiece. The Diablo salsa isn't just a condiment; it's a revelation. It's the kind of salsa that makes you understand why people are passionate about Mexican cuisine. Toño's is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of flavor. It's a place where you can relax, enjoy delicious food, and experience the warmth of true Mexican hospitality. And if you're brave enough, don't miss the Diablo salsa – it's a fiery, flavorful adventure you won't soon forget. Highly, highly...

Nice waitress, good ambience. I ordered the cielo, mar y tierra. It comes with breaded shrimp, nice and crisp with good flavoring, a whole roasted quail flavored perfectly it was my favorite part of the dish. It also had a grilled flap steak with great flavoring. The dish comes paired with refried beans and rice, unfortunately these were both cold. I also had a cup of tortilla soup, this was my least favorite, the broth had way too much vinegar, or had gone bad... Just unpleasantly surprised with the broth flavor. My boyfriend had the Seven sea soup, comes with green mussels, shrimp, fish, scallops and octopus. The broth had a nice flavor to it, and the portion size is big... Definitely nice...
