Just found my new favorite AYCE Korean BBQ spot in Buena Park!
I decided to treat my brother out to some bbq yesterday for his belated birthday. I'm more of a "beef combo - non-ayce kbbq" girly, while he's more accustomed to "ayce kbbq." Of course, we have to go with what little brother wants - but we have to go somehere known for their quality of meats. I've heard only great things about Gangnam, so I had to finally check it out.
We decided to go with the Combo C menu, which is about $60 per person with 58 menu items. We ordered the 1. Prime Kostal (highly marbled beef short rib) 2. Prime Non-Marinated Bone-in Galbi (prime bone-in short rib) , and 4. Marinated Prime Beef Boneless Short Rib Cut . Let's talk about the banchan options. We were given about 10 banchan dishes: macaroni salad, pickled jalapeno/daikon, marinaded rice noodles, cucumber kimchi, veggie pancake, fishcakes, japchae, horseradish radish, chicken karaage , and rice paper. Each banchan dish was delicious. I love banchan, so I don't really get many proteins since I dabble in more of the banchan options. The pickled radish wraps had like a hint of horseradish taste, which was different. It had a little bite to it like how wasabi would, which we both appreciated. The sweet and sour pork was definitely something new as a banchan for us. Nice and crispy! We also really enjoyed the sauce and dipping options. There were 4 different types: salt, some kind of spicy sauce, brisket type sauce, and a sweeter thicker sauce. They were all good with the meats! I wanted to look around and see what else was offered. They have a self-serve salad bar, which I love. Their dressing is also more on the white sesame creamy side, which I really enjoyed. You can also serve your own kimchi and pickled onions. They also have an exorbitant of different marinated pork and chicken cuts available as self serve, as well. Unforunately, we got full off of our first round of meat, so we didn't get to dabble in the other proteins. But definitely will next time! My favorite choice was #1, which makes sense why it is number one. All the meats were marbled, tender, and juicy. I really wanted to try the premium sea scallops and baby octopus, but my stomach wouldn't allow me to go any further. My brother really enjoyed his birthday meal!
Our service was great. We never had to ask to get our waters refilled or our grills changed. We were also always asked if we needed more sides. There is plenty of free parking in the shared plaza parking lot. There's plenty of seating for small and big parties. They are also open late, which is a...
Read moreI’ve been here twice now and it’s always been a good time. What stands them apart from other kbbq spots is that they have pretty tasty side dishes and a buffet bar for additional meat selections, salad and select side dishes. They have karaage as one of their side dishes and it’s pretty good. They have (3) menu selections: Menu A priced at $29.99 for 39 items, Menu B priced at $39.99 for 50 items and Menu C priced at $58.99 for 58 items. If you’re not craving seafood and just want the standard kbbq meats, then you can just go with Menu A. When I went both times, I opted for Menu B since I’m always craving for beef tongue so it’s worth it for me. Our server was super attentiv and would change our grills quite frequently. Meat orders were always replenished. One thing I do wish is that they offer steam eggs. I understand many kbbq spots removed it from their menu when the price of eggs were rocket high. It’s not a deal breaker though and I would still recommend this kbbq spot to friends who want great selections of meat and speedy service.

I highly recommend getting #1 because it has just the right amount of meat and fat and is marinated well. They give out a decent portion so I’d recommend not ordering this with other thicker cuts of meat. When I had their beef tongue during my first visit earlier this year, I liked that they provided a thicker cut but when I went recently, it was much thinner, similar to brisket thin. I’d prefer it to be a thicker cut but maybe that is just me. Nonetheless, I’d still order it though. The brisket and wagyu beef belly were super delicious and paired well with my radish paper...
Read moreTHERE WAS A STAFF MEMBER WHO WENT ON BREAK AND WAS PICKING HIS FEET THE WHOLE BREAK HE TOOK OFF HIS SHOES AND PUT HIS HAND UNDER HIS SOCKS, THEN TOOK OFF HIS SOCKS TO PICK AT HIS FEET WHICH WAS REPULSIVE TO SEE HIM OUT IN THE OPEN DOING THAT AS EVERYONE ATE. HE DIDNT EVEN BOTHER WASHING HIS HANDS ONCE HIS BREAK WAS OVER AS HE STARTED TO TOUCH EVERYTHING IN THE KITCHEN. Not only that but staff was rude from the start only being nice to the white and Korean people. My group and I felt racially profiled the whole time we were there as the staff continued to ignore us our whole stay as well as when they would attend to us they’d give attitude and a passive aggressive tone. I assumed they were just having a bad day so I continued to be understanding and bit my tongue not to say anything (which I regret now as I look at the review of others who had similar experience). As soon as we sat down our waiter asked what we wanted with an attitude before we could even look at the menu. We asked him if we could get more time since we barely sat and then he said they weren’t doing lunch with such attitude then just walked off and didn’t come back. We waited about 15 minutes just to get our order taken and we even asked for recommendations to which he only pointed rudely at our phone screen to. When our food came they didn’t give us any tongs for about 35 minutes and no matter how hard we tried to ask we were ignored until the the only nice male there saw and gave us tongs. Our originally waiter saw this and he threw 4 pair of tongs at our table then walked away (when I say threw I’m not even exaggerating). Our waiter continued to ignore us and every time we’d ask for something (from the kitchen in the back) they would always forget our items or just never come back. As to say it wasn’t busy at all the day we went. The food was good but was not worth how horrible it felt eating there. One of my friends even started to cry from how rude they were being towards us. (Pictures of staff member have been included) the main rude one was an older tall man and the only nice one was a lanky younger man with hair...
