Located in a busy, Korea-centric area of Buena Park, this unassuming, cozy spot hits many right notes for Korean comfort food focusing on handmade noodles. They have the classic kalguksu (handmade flour noodles), sujebi (korean stretched dough pieces which are essentially a flattened version of dumplings in a chicken and dumplings dish), naengmyun (cold chewy noodles in cold broth) and mandu (traditional dumplings). This is a specialty restaurant, so don’t come here expecting a large menu with traditional meat-based dishes. But once you find it (the signage is rather subtle and not easily seen), I think you’ll be pleased.

On this visit I ordered the kimchi kal-jebi which includes the noodles and stretched flour pieces in a spicy kimchi broth. They also offer the dish without the spicy broth. Definitely not for those on a low-carb diet, but the broth was medium on the spicy scale and generally flavorful. The noodles had a nice chew to them and the stretched pieces also had a nice bite. I also ordered the flat, fried dumplings 🥟. They were slightly filled with a pork and veggie filling to keep the shape flat, but that allowed for the crispy and chewy wrapper to get fried up nicely. The side dish offerings are very basic - regular kimchi and a radish kimchi (ggakdugi), but very good. As is typical with most Korean restaurants, they aren’t overly attentive. Rather, they provide basic, polite service and expect you to let them know when you need something. Both times I’ve eaten here the clientele has been almost exclusively Korean folks, so that says a lot in itself. I miss the closure of the nearby ManDooRang, but this is a worthy...

Very poor customer service. The middle-aged woman taking our order was unbelievably impatient and rude to my wife, when she was just asking questions about the menu items. Hint to owner -Kindly teach your employees how to treat customers with respect, instead of being pushy and impulsive because they are not sure what to order. My wife (who is Korean) felt very insulted, and asked another server to mediate, when she couldn't understand why this woman was escalating a simple question into an argument.

The situation got so heated that we left without ordering, and then this first employee (server) had the audacity to follow us outside of the restaurant main door and shout obscenities because we wouldn't tolerate her behavior.

For me -the first and last time to visit this place. Sorry I can't comment on the food. Too many other Korean restaurants in the area -I will take my...

I’ve visited several times and the food has always been great, but unfortunately, this visit was disappointing due to the service. I asked our server for a high chair for my son, and instead of responding, she made a strange face and said nothing. After waiting for a while, I had to call her over again to place our order and repeated the request. She barely acknowledged me and still didn’t bring a high chair. I even saw her talking to another server and it seemed like she was complaining about my request, which made the situation feel even more uncomfortable. Eventually, I had to get a high chair myself—which I would have gladly done right away if I had simply been told. I don’t understand why such a simple and common request was ignored and treated so dismissively. It left a really negative impression, especially given the otherwise good experiences...

This restaurant came highly recommended by my wife for our first visit. Despite its modest size, it offers a variety of Korean noodle dishes and soul food options. We opted for the water Makgoogsoo (춘천막국수) and beef dumplings (고기 만두). Unfortunately, the Makgoogsoo had a slightly sweet taste that overshadowed the other flavors, and the dumplings, while satisfactory, seemed overpriced for six pieces. The service was slow and lacked warmth, likely due to the limited staff handling all customers. From a management standpoint, prioritizing cost savings on wages may result in missed opportunities to build customer loyalty. I hope the owner considers hiring more employees to accommodate growth and ensure a positive dining experience for all patrons.

Best place for Korean cold noodles (and honestly, the only place I know for it). Actually found this place trying to find Japanese soba noodles but found this place instead which is still a good alternative. Staff is very friendly and everything you try off this menu is really good. It's far from where I live but worth the drive. Definitely recommend.
