Don Tequila — Restaurant in Buena Vista

The staff here is fantastic. They are kind and helpful, with a quick turnaround getting our food to us. However, the food here is not Mexican food. The sauce on my enchiladas was tomato soup - literally. It tasted like a can of tomato soup instead of enchilada sauce. The cheese is not actual cheese. It tastes like Velveeta. Where are the fresh veggies? The spices? The real Mexican cheese? I've been here several times over the years, ordering something different each time, hoping that the next thing I order will taste like actual Mexican food. Sadly, each time I am disappointed. I gave them a fair shot, but I don't think I'll be coming back to Don Tequila's. I hope someday they change their ingredients and dishes to reflect authentic Mexican food. If they do, I would love to support this...

Service was terrible after 30 minutes a kid came to the table asking if we wanted anything else and we hadn't even ordered food yet. 1hr 25 minutes later we got 1 of the 5 dishes ordered but not the tortillas for the fajhita then 5 minutes later the" Taco Salad soup " came and then 10 minutes after that the rest of the meals came. Food is okay, but the service was horrible. Everytime I'll ask Jessenia, our waiter a question about the food she would say, "idk" "we just call it like that". Then I ordered a fried ice cream. It was all covered with a ton of whip cream and strawberry jelly. It was not appetizing at all. When I looked at it, it looked like a period on a plate. Also don't order piña Coladas from this place.
