McDonald's — Restaurant in Buffalo Grove

This is an insensitive, inconvenient, customer-unfriendly and unhygienic place.

I ordered for two fish sandwiches- one regular (that is expected to have cheese) and one more for which I specified that it should have NO cheese. The receipt indicated exactly that , i.e. one usual and one with no cheese. The orders were made through driveway. I picked up the sandwiches and came home. I checked one sandwich, observed that it had cheese and gave it to my daughter. She ate it. The second one (supposedly with no cheese ) was supposed to be for my wife. After a bit when I checked it, I found that it actually had cheese. I called the facility to report the issue with the order. The line wasn’t clear but it SEEMED LIKE the person on the other end of the line was trying I say that they gave us two fish patties in each burger although the order was for one and hence it supposedly was ok to make the mistake on the the cheese. When I countered the philosophy and emphasized that the order was fulfilled incorrectly in any case, the person told me to go back to them and talk to whoever is available. After an hour or so, we went back to the driveway. They recognized me immediately and gave me two fish sandwiches (supposedly one with cheese and one with no cheese). When we came home and checked, we AGAIN found that both the sandwiches had cheese.!! I had no energy left in me and thought I would let go and eat something else. My wife insisted that we get it corrected and again called them and explained that correction had not been done. The person at other end of the line, after understanding the situation told my wife in a WARNING tone that “ITS THE LAST TIME” they are making the change. He made it sound like it’s our fault. Anyways my wife decided to go inside the facility this time to get the replacement and make sure they are right ones. I was very disturbed by the fact that he warned my wife using language like “this is the last time”. I decided to go inside the facility. I had to wake up my 6 year old because I could not have left her by herself in car. When I went in, my wife was talking to a middle aged person (seemingly from Hispanic background). I enquired about who it was who said about it being “the last time” to my wife when fault was theirs. He said it as him who had said that and he backed it up saying something that seemed like he had been replacing multiple times and that’s that. His attitude was 100% unapologetic. After few minutes when I did not relent and my discomfort was evident, he changed his posture in a cunning way and started saying that he used language like “it’s the last time” because he was going to make it right this time. He then checked the last two full-filled sandwiches for cheese with HIS BARE HANDS. He never had gloves on. Satisfied that both had cheese, he went in to replace one of them. The other one continued to stay at the counter top. He came back with a sandwich (that had no cheese). We took that and left the other at the counter. He offered the other one ( that was lying on counter). We humbly declined. When he insisted that we take it, I told him that he had used bare hands to check the sandwich and we did not want to take that. He blatantly declined that he used bare hands to check the sandwiches. Anyways, we left. It’s a very popular franchisee and it’s unfortunate to see them so insensitive...

ONLY THE FACTS: Walked into McDonald's to place an order "to go" on 10/03/19 at 7:18pm. Drive thru happened to be busy (but that's okay.... wasn't in a hurry.... I didn't mind waiting). Lupe took my order: One Double Cheeseburger (no pickle), One Double Quarter Pounder w/Cheese (no pickle) and One Large French Fries. All this was "ala carte" (per item w/no drinks). Total Due on the register was $11.74. I gave Lupe $12 cash. (My expected cash back would be .26 cents). When Lupe pressed the "Total" key, it gave an error and the register displayed $9.03. Lupe had entered the order three more times but the final total bill each time still showed $9.03 on the register display. Lupe gave up trying to figure it out and gave me exactly .25 cents (a quarter) back as change.... she took the receipt, crumpled it up into a little ball and tossed aside between the two cash registers. While Lupe left the register to assemble my order, I was curious about the "ERROR". I picked up the crumpled receipt and unraveled it. Looking at the receipt, it shows PROMO at the top. (I'll post the receipt #264 with this review so that you guys can see) According to the receipt, I was not being charged for the Large Fries and on the bottom of the receipt shows "Total Savings" = $2.49.

THOUGHTS: Keep in mind, I paid what the total would have been anyways ($11.74) irrespective of the "promo discount".... and I lost out on $2.50 (which of course is my own fault.... and remember.... Lupe gave me back .25 cents change and not the correct .26 cents from $12.00 cash. I must say though, the order was fresh, hot & quick.

BOTTOM LINE: If you're not going to fuss about $2.50, you have nothing to worry about. If you're going to fuss about $2.50, you may want to make...

Please clean up!!!!! Wow!!!! Please, for the love of G?? Please clean up. Omg. We drop by for gas and some quick food!! Omg. Every table was dirty! I went to every table and all tables were dirty. Omg. We did not find 1 clean table. I had to clean a table myself for us!

Clean this restaurant!!! Omg!!! This is inexcusable. I’m sure this place has been dirty for days or weeks! Omg. Hire someone to clean up this dump! Omg.

So disappointed and disgusted!

Do not eat here! If they cannot clean a simple dinner area, think of the food!

Shut this place down or fire everyone and start fresh!! Really! People give this place good reviews because they use the drive-thru only. If only they knew how disgusting this place is. Burners are probably never cleaned. Fries are cooked in same oil for months! Talks about a hazmat location! Floor is probably never cleaned. Cockroaches all over! Rats and mouse droppings too!!

Drive to another McDonald’s ! A clean restaurant can tell a lot about how the kitchen is run!
