VarenychOK — Restaurant in Buffalo Grove

We ordered full service catering for a party of 125 people and we are extremely happy with how it turned out. Oksana is lovely to work with. She goes well above and beyond the call of duty. Not only is the food delicious and gorgeous in presentation (and it really is both of those!) but every other detail of the party is considered and thought through. They set up the tables, arranged party favors, assembled centerpieces. Oksana picked up additional orders I placed at other places for sushi and coffee. She even bought ice for the bar and flowers for the tables because she thought they would brighten up the place. I’m blown away by her generosity of spirit and kindness, as well as her professionalism. And her price is unbeatable. I got several quotes for this party, and she saved me thousands of dollars. Bought some dumplings and pierogies from VarenychOK. They taste OK but are priced on the higher side ( approximately 2x the price of those from a regular store). It is handmade so we understand the pricing. The staff is NOT welcoming at all. Not even a single smile. I felt like I owed an apology to the cashier for something that I didn’t do. I don’t think I would be coming back.

Update: I never commented anything about the Nutella cake from your place. I did mention that your pierogies are on the higher price side BUT I do understand the pricing because the product is handmade, please read my review carefully. I will not be coming back because of unwelcoming staff, not because of the taste of pierogies or their price. Let me just say- I have picky eaters at home. The preferred option is the home-cooked meal that catered to the taste of everyone. It can't be too fat, too salty, or too sweet. When I first stopped at Varenychok I was skeptical, and I don't know how Oksana managed to keep her cool when I asked 100 questions about each item. I am glad she managed, and I found a new place that I can always count on. My middle school student takes lunch from home that I purchase from Varenychok. Today's breakfast was the food from Varenychok. I highly recommend everything from this wonderful place. I am a mother who works over 40 hours a week, plus a full-time student.
