Joe's Pizza at Amherst & grant in Buffalo.

I would like to start this out by saying I've had some of the best pizza in buffalo from here. I felt very disrespected tonight though by their Friday night manager, Jack. I called to place my order at 8:35 for a large pizza, mozzarella sticks, and 20 wings (10 hot and 10 medium). Came to $42 for delivery. Received my order graciously at 9:35 to find my wings were made 10 plain/10 mild. I immediately called back to let them know of the mishap and was told by their manager, Jack, that I could either get a $5 or $6 credit, which was not very fair given the circumstances and the price of their wings, or I could have them remade and delivered in 30 minutes.... Reasonable seeing as I am a 5 min drive away and they wouldn't even fully compensate me for the mishap if that's what I wanted.

By the time 10:35 rolled around though, we were done eating and our correct order of wings were late according to our promise from Jack. I called back to be told they were going out right now. I didn't want them and asked to just be fully refunded with 20 wings some other night, since it had now been an hour later rather than 30 minutes. Jack denied responsibility for what he previously said, which is one of my least favorite qualities ever in the world of customer service. He claimed he must have said 30-45 mins... STILL LATE (not to mention incorrect and irresponsible) ON WHAT SHOULD BE AN EXPO DELIVERY IN THE FIRST PLACE! After realizing that tonight for some reason, Joe's Pizza had no care in the world for if I would ever be a repeat customer when I have been ordering there since 2011, they finished it all off by finally delivering my correct order of wings at 11:02.

Eye opening experience, even for someone who has worked in a pizzeria, in neck deep on a busy Friday night. I understand that mistakes happen and this is prone to happen on busy nights. No matter how much stress one must endure at work, it is no reason to give bad attitude and a lousy experience to someone who would have never dreamed of having to give this review. In the past, the counter and delivery service has been superb. In the future however, I believe I'll take my business to one of the other businesses making quality food that hasn't had their manager make me feel completely disrespected. I'm disappointed and really wish I had more good to say right now.

Again, they are typically great and have put a smile on my face while devouring in the past. The bad attitude and devotion to the stupidest white lie rather than taking responsibility, for a mistake that shir as hell wasn't mine, was what really left a bad taste in my mouth. I expect an apology which I'm sure...

As a part of our two-week vacation to the states, we drove and spent the day in Buffalo, New York. We had one thing in our sights. The thing that New York is famous for more than anything else… New York style-pizza.

Dad found a pizzeria that fit our criteria (high rating, big parking lot, and not downtown). Its name was Joe's New York Style Pizza.

We walked in at 1:30 in the afternoon, and our sights were set on two types of pizza: cheese, and pepperoni. We got about 6 slices in total. I hate to say this, but it was just regular pizza. The cheese was far better than the pepperoni. I’m going to give the cheese a 7.8/10 and the pepperoni a 6.8/10. The pepperoni was too spicy. I do acknowledge that we got slices ALREADY made. Maybe, we should’ve asked them to make us a fresh pizza.

I made a little discovery, too. It’s a drink called Loganberry from the brand Crystal Beach. The label explains the brand was inspired by an amusement park on the shores of Lake Erie. Loganberry combines the flavour of ripe blackberries and red raspberries. To me, it had a pomegranate flavour. It’s very close to the taste of Fruitopia Integration. I’ll give Loganberry a 7.5/10.

This experience was a reminder that in the food world, you’re not going to love everything you try. But, through this process of elimination, you filter out the stuff you don’t like; and therefore, are left with what...

The People who gave Joe's negative reviews are obviously from Buffalo because just about everywhere else in NY state makes NY Style pizza or a species very close to it! I do not like Buffalo's style of pizza making too thick & bread-ie, too much sauce and sometimes too much cheese...and lastly what's up with those little pepperoni-grease-bowl-things??? And I am a HUGE fan of Sicilian and Chicago style, so my taste doesn't have a particular dislike for thick crust styled pizza...Just Buffalo's thick crust....Joe's and Olisi's make the best pizza in Buffalo, especially for those of us not originally from here! Joe's and Olisi's have GREAT NY, Chicago, and Sicilian style pizza...The BEST in Buffalo to be had!!! La Nova's makes a pretty good NY style pie too, but with them it's only available in one size and its like $23 or some ridiculous price. The BEEF PEPPERONI is a major plus for all three of the spots that I just name too (except only can get BP from La Nova at their Ferry location). Keep up the GREAT...

I order from Joe's New York Style Pizza (on Amherst St in Black Rock) through Doordash often. I like that it's pretty close to the style of pizza I'm used to (Philadelphia/Lehigh Valley area) which is a Neapolitan style pizza a lot thinner than Buffalo pizza, which is more Sicilian. The only thing is that it's pretty expensive doing this, as the plain large cheese pizza ($24) ends up costing over $32 after a $5 tip, even using Dashpass. It's quite a bit more than similar pizzerias. Also, while the pizza tastes good, there is something a little odd about the crust; it's not quite right & has this thin, tough, chewy layer on the very bottom that actually hurts my jaw after chewing the 1st slice! This place is good for you if you like Gino & Joe's Pizzeria (my favorite, 1st floor of Mainplace Mall), Zetti's, Ferro's Famous NY Pizza, or Gino's NY Style (near UB), as they all make this style of pizza. Give any of these a try if you're new to the area and looking for something more like home

Authentic New York-style pizzas can be found at Joe’s New York Style Pizza. We got our slices on May 11th, 2024. The pizza is thin, the crust is crispy, and the slices are those classic large triangles. The best for us was the cheese pizza. We don’t usually crave a plain cheese on tomato sauce pizza in Toronto, but Joe’s changed our minds. It’s never smelled or tasted this good. When you go to New York, a thin crust cheese slice is a must, and Joe’s does it right. There are other pizza slices to tempt you in the glass enclosure, and you should try them to compare, but the cheese slice wins every time. Oh, and you’ve got to eat it folded — like a real New Yorker. Joe’s restaurant isn’t fancy, but it’s clean. The service is good, the price is reasonable, and they also deliver to the surrounding area. But if you’re like us, you’ll cross the Canadian border if you’re in the Niagara region to get it. Highly recommend.
