I totally recommend dining in at this place over take out. Why? The perks to it of course! The owner is such a sweet heart and the staff is so accommodating!
Things to know: The owner has been making sushi for about 22 years. You can tell he was trained very well by the way he takes his time with each roll. Be patient when waiting because the Umami (the flavours) is real. I know people will discredit places because "they're not Japanese" listen, the man knows the art form, he is beyond respectful and is clearly trained in the sushi making field. Don't knock it off until you try! They are AMAZING and respectful!
Do: Dine in! The salad provided to us before the sushi was amazing, a mix of tuna and salmon and cucumber with a great blend of seasonings. It melted in our mouths, everyone at the table was giggling like school children at the taste of it. Order the sushi - I recommend the Niagara Lava Rolls, they were to die for. Order the Tempura Shrimp, oh it was so light and fluffy like tempura should be.
Ehhh: This isn't a Ramen shop so don't go expecting magical ramen that will make you want to come back for more. It was just Ramen as it is. Nothing too fancy. The server rarely checked in on us. We were sharing our appetizers and had no plates to put our food on and we had to ask for some. Just make sure to ask for plates. It was difficult to get his attention but when we did get it eh was prompt to help us and that was very nice of him!
Extra To know: There are no fountain drinks, drinks are by the bottle The English is very broken, but don't let that deter you from making a new acquaintance with such nice people. Be Patient
Don't miss out on the opportunity to view this place! IT IS WORTH IT and and the prices are JUST RIGHT. At some point I will be doing a TIktok about this place so that others can...
Read moreI'll give a honest review and say the food was very average, and bit disappointing. Some of the food we ordered only sounded appealing, but look and taste wise it was not. For example, the Mexican Roll- was basically shrimp tempura roll which only had capsicum added to it, and that makes it called Mexican roll? You would expect other items such as avocado with it, whichvit didnt. Another thing we ordered was chicken tempura roll which was 10 pieces. You would expect the size to be semi big and be mouthful. However, they looked small and not as filling. Taste wise it was okay. But usually there are atleast 2 - 4 pieces that would have a crispy/flaky chicken tempura in it. With some avocado. However in this case it looked like 2 flimsy chicken "tempura".
We also had French fries and nuggets. both tasted bad. French fry was crumbly and chicken nugget had weird texture. Also the soy sauce had a strange smell to it, and kinda tasted weird too.
The service we had was alright, the waiter was sweet and kind, but seemed kinda anxious with her answers. She gave us some recommendations for the food. Which we ordered. Unfortunately, just the recommendations weren't as good. So I don't even know how the other food would have tasted (maybe some taste good). But I won't judge those since I didnt try them. I can go based off my experience.
Overall, I believe even though the restaurant is small business. The food should match up with the pricings they put. Rather than having a higher price for food, that weren't as customer satisfactory. They seemed like good folks, but it would definitely be nice if the food is worked on more as well. Otherwise, I wish them the best and be successful with...
Read moreI ordered Ramen , Thai soup and Japanese chicken nuggets just about an hour ago. I cannot fathom how bad the food tastes. I waited over an hour for the food and not only that when I told the restaurant about the tasteless food they said “it is halal food”. Well sorry to break it down to you: Halal food doesn’t mean “nasty food”. Just be honest and say your chef does not know how to prepare Ramen (which btw had spinach, yam, broccoli, beans and three micro mini size beef slices thinner than a cheese slice in it. The broth tastes like dish washed water remnants) and Thai Soup (which had no flavor and tastes like sink water) or some basic Nuggets (which was more coating than chicken). Blaming the food on being Halal is a very poor excuse and completely wrong information. It is misleading because halal food is delicious and the best halal food is the one that is prepared at home. They just don’t know how to cook, it has nothing to do with being halal. Please own up to your shortcomings and focus on improving your business rather than telling people “because the food is halal it doesn’t taste good.” Personally would not recommend and will not be...
