My wife and I met at Friends House after work for Chinese comfort food. We've been searching for a nice Chinese restaurant since moving to the area two years ago, and I think this is it!
We were mid-week around 6:30 pm, so there weren't many people there. The restaurant is small but nicely laid out with comfortable booths. The service was fast but not pushy. They have a typical menu with easily recognizable items, which was a blessing after visiting restaurants with odd but colorful names for traditional dishes.
We had sizzling rice soup, spring rolls, and split a dish of General Tso's chicken. The spring rolls were nice, and they provided hot mustard when requested. Not the stuff in plastic pouches. The real deal and it almost took the top of my head off. Excellent!
The sizzling rice soup was a little disappointing as it wasn't sizzling and the rice was crunchy, but it was loaded with shrimp chicken and veggies. I will try it again to see if it improves because it would be excellent if it were very hot and the rice cooked.
The General Tso's chicken was very good and plentiful and was served with a small bowl of steamed rice. Split between the two of us it was just the right amount.
Net-net - this is our new go-to Chinese restaurant for those nights when we just don't...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is bar none the BEST Chinese/Asian restaurant anywhere around here. The food is always perfect. The chicken dishes use excellent sliced chicken breast. The fried chicken like General Tso's is tender white meat also. Their beef is also excellent, very tender and nice cuts of meat. The portions are huge for what you pay. I can feed four people with two take out dishes, and still have enough left over for two of us to have lunch the next day. The rice is also wonderful. Perfectly sticky and chewy. It's even good the next day, still nice and soft. Unlike most rice that turns back into dried pellets the next day. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They seem to know all their customers and it's always a pleasure to stop in.
I can't say enough about it. If you live anywhere nearby, you must check this place out. I've been going for four years now, and it has always...
ย ย ย Read moreIt was interesting once we got there to find that if you want to eat in that they will just give you your to-go order and you can sit down and eat it no service follow up. The science is of course since they have short people this is what you have to deal with and have patience. We didn't have a lot of time so we only hurt appetizers. We had egg rolls and hot sour soup and an order of fried dumplings. The hot and sour soup once weak and taste and the broth was salty and not flavorful. The egg rolls were typical egg rolls for many Chinese type restaurant it probably got from Cisco. On the other hand the fried dumplings looks like they were made in the restaurant. The pork filling was tasty they were crisp flavorful and I really...
