Stop by for the 1st time to order lunch. Place was packed so I had to wait 5minutes to be seated. While I waited in the inside to be seated- I had to sit on an extremely uncomfortblable wooden bench. Once seated I ordered a sweet tea. My tea came in an extremely small Mason jar that cost $2.79. Almost $3 for 3oz of tea the rest was ice. I looked around at people eating breakfast menu items- but the amount of sugar on everything made me order lunch. I ordered a beyond burger which is $13.99 for a bun and meat only. I was charged .75cents for 1 slice of lettuce, .75 for a 1slice of tomato, and another .75 for 2 tablespoons of cut white onion. I ordered my beyond burger well done but it came out extra lite and half of the patty missing. You could tell it was scrapped off a flat grill but half the burger stayed attached to the grill. The bun was cold, spongy and tasteless. The psychology in my mind is that who ever owns this is not from American to charge for regular toppings thats already suppose to be on it. The only good part of my meal was my fries with no seasoning. Bill came out to a little over $20 for some food that tasted like a high school cafeteria food. Not worth the cost. The place has a nice little vibe for breakfast, but I ain't going here anymore.
Response from the owner 8 minutes ago Hey Kanecc,
Thank you for your feedback while visiting us. I am happy to hear you were seated within five minutes, although we were extremely busy. We have 30 tables at our restaurant and accommodate our guest as fast as we can. Iâm sorry to hear you found our benches uncomfortable but our wait list system wouldâve gladly notified you from your car that your table was ready. The psychology in my mind is that you have been to the grocery store here in America and see the price of food including produce has gone up exponentially. A beyond burger patty alone is $6.52 at the grocery store not including a bun or French fries. As much as I wish we were exempt from cost increase, we are not. We price our meals accordingly like the rest of the establishments do to be able to keep our doors open for our guest who love to share a meal with us. Our beyond burger do not include lettuce, tomato and onion. It does not state it on our menu like some of our other burgers do. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will be sure to let our servers know they should reiterate what the menu states. Our sweet tea is $2.79 but refills are complimentary and wish you couldâve voiced your concern while you visited us so you couldâve known. Our mason jars are 16oz mason jars and the first serving is a minimum of 8-10oz. We are proud to serve breakfast and lunch all day long. Our patrons love to enjoy our pancakes and wish you couldâve tried the gluten free pancake. Our prices are aligned with the rest of our local restaurants but pride ourselves in our LARGE portions. I wouldâve loved the opportunity to speak with you in person regarding your beyond patty and wouldâve gladly made you another one to ensure you enjoyed your meal. I am glad you were able to sit down at a restaurant and be served for $20. Thank you again for your feedback and saddened to hear you wonât be enjoying another meal with us.
Take CResponse from the owner 8 minutes ago --Based on the owner's sarcastic response. I will return, but not to eat. 1st I did not want to wait in my vehicle, as I am disabled and I did not want to inconvenience myself. If the place has such limited seating and seating is a problem, learn to use signage.
I do buy beyond and impossible burgers at the grocery store. I also buy other ingredients and have the intelligence to differ the cost of ingredients versus the cost it takes to make 1 item. If you add up the gross weight of the burger, it does not equal the asking price, and you still make a profit. I noticed you didn't address the taste quality because you're too busy trying to justify your prices. I can name several establishments that serve beyond burgers way cheaper with no extra charge for toppings and it...
Read moreUpdate: 3 Dec 2022 This time we had no trouble with service, and everyone was prompt. Our waiter was very nice. I feel it's important to update. This time I ordered the "challah souffle." Don't order it. I'm a foodie with the technical skills, and this is NOT a souffle. It's not a strata or other style of casserole, either. It's layers of dough with a grossly overdone amount of cheese between the layers - something like pillsbury layers with to much cheese, and it's cut into triangular pieces and cooked, but the inside was inside, heavily loaded with cheese grease and what seemed like half-cooked dough. The only way to make it palatable is to dice it, crisp or up in a pan, and use it in a casserole with egg and cream and some crumbled sausage served werth some syrup on top. The other is to maybe dice it and crisp it in a pan and put it with sauteed vegetables and make it with eggs into a frittata. By itself it's gross. The pancakes are still neither crepes nor pancakes - thin battered wimpy pancakes spread out over the whole plate and not fluffy. If you come here, best to get an omelette. The technique for that isn't right either - more like a thin slightly overcooked mass of egg with stuff in it that's flipped over, but it's done and has some flavor variety. We tried the cup of clam chowder. Not good. It had a lot of potato pieces but no perceptible chunks of clam meat, and seemed like they used clean broth to try to put the flavor in it.
I didn't get the french toast casserole again (basically bread pudding but one-dimensional, needing some golden raisins or apple or other fruit and a creme sauce).
Some editing and their rough ideas would be enjoyable, but it's not good.
Nice people, cute interior, good service, probably not going back. Not big on spending $45
2021 - a year ago (pre- existing review is below) Its cute inside but in spite of getting there 30 minutes after it opened it took forever for someone to come to our table. I had to flag down a waitress after we sat a while, because another couple came in 10 minutes after us and got their drinks. Our waitress came out and apologized saying it had been so quiet she was in the back sharing an idea with the manager. She she'd nice and was absolutely on top of things from the time she got out there. I had the French toast casserole which was really good but I hope in the future they add a light cream sauce and maybe some golden raisins to it for contrast. The pecan pancake that came with my spouse's meal was weird because it was supposed to be a 7" fluffy pancake but it was thin and enormous. They had some tasty menu items. I wish they had some brighter flavors like lemon pancakes with blueberry or omelettes that include spinach, sun dried tomatoes and...
Read moreAbsolutely awful experience, management needs a serious wake-up call. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, especially if you're coming as a small group. My partner and I went around noon on Fatherâs Day, fully expecting a wait. It took about 1 hour and 10 minutes to be seated, which we were fine with. What we werenât fine with was the complete lack of service and respect we received once we were finally sat down. Our server, a young woman, clearly couldnât be bothered with us. She spent all her time catering to bigger tables (4â6 people) while treating us like we didnât exist. You would tell her one thing in ordering and she would completely forgot so you have to remind her again and then she puts it down, and kept asking my partner âwhat side again?â, very curt. She âforgotâ to bring our waters which she said sheâll bring us, gave us zero napkins, and never brought the sauces she recommended. Worst part? She sat at the bar scrolling on her phone while we sat for 20 minutes after finishing our food, completely ignored. She only checked on us once the entire time. ONE time. And yet she kept staring at our table, clearly aware we were sitting there needing something, and still chose to ignore us. Rude, dismissive, and lazy. And the food? Total trash. McDonaldâs pancakes are honestly better. The grits tasted like they were scraped off the bottom of a filthy cast iron pan after cooking mystery meat. If you're vegan, stay far away, those grits are definitely cooked in meat grease. But honestly, the worst part of this place isnât even the server â itâs the management. Why is your staff on their phones during rush hour on Fatherâs Day of all times? Why are your servers totally neglecting tables? This is a clear failure of leadership. If no one is being held accountable, no wonder your service is garbage.
We will never come back. And unless youâre okay being treated like an afterthought and served bottom-tier food, you...
