Stopped by for the first & last time. Menu seemed well put together & priced fairly. I decided to order 1 hot dog with chili & cheese with 1 drink to-go. I waited 33 minutes from time of order for 1 hot dog. Waited & waited in 97° weather. Asked for a sweet tea (which is a VERY common beverage in the south) & was told they dont carry tea at all. WOW just wow. I ordered a Dr. Pepper & continued the wait in anticipation I was going to get probably the best dog Ill ever have...or so Ive been told. 28 mins into waiting & Im asked what Im waiting for. I said my 1 chili cheese dog to-go. Another woman yells what Im here for & i repeat my response. Finally I see my dog. Sitting on a plate. AFTER I told 2 people it was a to-go smh. They hand me the plate & I tell them I need it to go. They bag it & i rush to my truck to eat on my drive as Ive spent WAAAY too much time here already & I'm behind schedule. As I eagerly tear open the bag & unwrap my dog, Im met with an abstract mess of chili & cheese atop one of the skinniest, narrow dehydrated weiners I have ever seen. I decide still to dive in head first. My first bite was basic commercial canned taste chili & then Im met with Velveeta imitation cheese product flavor. The dog itself was tough I could barely naw the end off. I tried to eat it....I REALLY did. I was starving by this time. But I just couldnt force down another bite. 2 bites in & I spit out what was residual in my mouth, sucked on my Dr. Pepper & drove home...hungry, hot, irritated, & $9.00 poorer. Well, you pay for your wisdom I suppose & I DEF did in this case. Horrible food, poor service. Will not...
Read moreCould I give half a star? I have passed this place many times... stopped by once years ago it wasn't memorable then... but it certainly is memorable now... I will remember never to come back for a $5 hot dog that tasted like a cheap ballpark Frankfurter... I should have asked before ordering, what I was expecting was something along the lines of a Sabrett or Nathan type of hot dog but this just tasted like cheap pork hot dogs... you know the ones, the ones you dont buy anymore...my hot dog arrived it was shriveled and certainly not hot. I usually pride myself and not being lured in by advertisements or slogans or testimonials and this one had a glaring pronouncement of voted best hot dogs. I demand a recount save your money and your time just keep passing on by. If you're going west there is a diner on the left that serves a really good flounder meal and if you're going east there's always the restaurant called the Pig Stand... don't even stop here even if you're dying of hunger you could last another three minutes in...
Read moreI moved to Bunnell in December and was looking forward to trying the local fair to support my new neighbors and to enjoy some good food.
I went to one place, ate half the meal, and it that literally made me hurl. I went to a 2nd local establishment that received high praise from the locals. The Thanksgiving plate was so full of salt that it was inedible. I stopped at Hot Diggity Dogs for the 3rd and final strike for the local fair.
Totally different experience! The NJ dog was delicious! And I'm a Jersey girl so it get's extra props. I also got an orangecicle shake and it was yummy. Some shakes are too sweet but this one was perfect.
There's a sign on the wall that reads, "Everyone wants our wieners." It's a boast they can back up! Since I brought my dog with me, I was very happy to see a sign that read, "Dogs welcome, kids must be leashed" lol
There's picnic benches outside and it has an awesome family atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and try a different dog with my dog.
Thank you for an...
