Flagler County Historical Society & Holden House Museum — Attraction in Bunnell

There was even more to see there than I had thought. Holden House is a beautifully preserved home from the early 1900's. All original or period furnishings. Beside the main house is a restored child's playhouse and behind the house is the Annex which contains all sorts of exhibits about the history of Flagler County agriculture and industry. It contains a complete newspaper morgue of past copies on paper and computer. And especially impressive is their genealogical research library. All the volunteers are excellent and I joined with a membership to help support them. Well...

Such a find. So many things to learn. Lived here 18 years (more now) and didn’t know a quarter of the history and sights around the county. Need to go visit here at least for a new appreciation of living here. Flagler county is rich in events and goings on. The future for discovery is bright for the society and our flagler community, a new museum and new ways to discover history is on the way.
