I came here on a Thursday night around 6pm, ordered a vegetarian pho to go, the waitress told me it’ll be ready in 15-20 minutes max. So I come back after 20 minutes and she goes back to check on it then comes back and tells me it’s not ready yet it’ll be another 5-10 minutes max. So I go back to my car and come back after after 10 minutes and again she goes back to “check on it” tells me it’s not ready yet it’ll be another 10 minutes… so AGAIN I come back 10 minutes later and in that moment there was a different waitress so she went to check on my order and she comes back and tells me my order isn’t ready yet it’ll be ready in about 10 minutes and at that point I got irritated and said “are you serious it’s been 40 minutes!!!” And the waitress replied “idk sorry I just started” …so I go back to my car and decide to wait another 20 minutes. At this point it had been an hour so I go back again and the previous waitress is back, tall blonde white woman, she says “so it looks like there was a mix up with your order if you want I can just go back there and tell them to make it really quick or I can give you a refund” …….SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THE FIRST 4 TIMES I CAME IN AND YOU KEPT GOING BACK TO “CHECK ON IT” YOU COULDN'T HAVE TOLD THEM TO “MAKE IT REALLY QUICK” …insane I told her I wanted the refund and she told me she couldn’t give it to me herself and I would have to call the next day and talk to the manager…so I have to go out of my way to get a refund as if it’s my fault the restaurant has terrible service?!? And the best part is, I called about 10 times and it kept going to voice mail. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank. I absolutely will not come back. This isn’t even the first time they took a ridiculous amount of time making my takeout order. Something similar happened about a year ago. I waited 45 minutes for my order and on top of that the broth was so salty it was not edible and I say that as someone who loves salt. I wanted to give it another chance because I live in the area but that was...
Read moreI would like to start by saying we didn't get to eat at this establishment because their service was so terrible. Our family came in around 6:15 pm, and the place had 3 tables with patrons sitting at them. We were seated at the table in front of the bar/counter. One of the staff promptly gave us water and the menus and walked away. About 5 mins or so had gone by, and nobody came to take the order. I thought it was odd, but I saw the QR code that was on the side of the utensils holder and figured we have to scan to order our meal. So I scanned it and ordered 3 meals. Then I saw the staff there taking orders from other patrons. I was a little annoyed by this as they never approached us to ask for our order. At 6:21 p.m., I received a text msg confirming our order had been received. At 6:48 p.m., we asked the staff if they received our order. He said yes and quickly walked away. Still by 7pm no staff had come to us to let us know the status of our meal. About 7:05 p.m., I told the waiter we couldn't wait any longer as the kids were restless from waiting for almost 40 minutes!!! We told the staff we were leaving because we couldn't wait any longer and for him to cancel our order. His response was "ok" and walked away. Absolutely the worst service ever. Not once did they come over after giving us water and the menu to check or offer to take our orders. They'll look at our table and keep walking. Another thing was one of the staff wore the same black glove on his right hand and I watched him coming out of the kitchen bringing food to a customer, scratched his ear while he was walking to the register to grab menus to hand out to patrons walking in, then walked to the bar/counter and brought a bowl of noodle soup to another customer. That's very unsanitary. He had a black glove on the entire time we were there.
We walked a few doors down and ate at a Japanese food place, and their service was excellent, quick, and their...
Read moreMy GF and I decided to go back and try the food again and see if there were any changes. They have definitely made improvements and are still adjusting as they continue trying out new things. We tried the chicken Pho again and this time there was no fatty chicken. It was white chicken breast meat and delicious. The broth was just as it was before and still tasty.
We had the egg rolls again and those were just as good as last time. Mmmm.
I did order some glazed chicken wings and they were crisp and delicious
They had a Dine LA menu. I was looking at the included charbroiled spring rolls as they went to other tables and they looked tasty.I will have to try that menu next time. The Dine LA menu is only being served until the 28th of this month.
We were able to try out the taro coconut ice cream and that was refreshing and made my GF say OMG!
The staff was friendly and they had one waitress that was working hard, but always in a great mood. The restaurant was getting busier, and she was hustling making sure everyone was content.
If you want a change from downtown Burbank with the overcrowding, long waits, and want some good Pho/Vietnamese food, then try out Lotus and Light. We will definitely keep coming back here.
First review: This was my first visit and I will need to go back to try more dishes. I had the chicken pho and the broth was tasty. It was not too salty and you can taste the different ingredients. We ordered the egg rolls and they were crisp and also delicious. The Thai tea was also very tasty and refreshing. The customer service was outstanding. The only disappointment was the chicken in the pho was fatty. I called back to tell the manager I had a good experience but the chicken was fatty. I also told him our waitress was great. He explained they were under new management and working on making things better. I liked this place and hope they improve the pho. I will go back to...
