Disappointing customer service. When calling for pricing and ideas for my event, as all events go through a budgeting phase, I was ill received when I didn't want to put a deposit down yet. It was the first time speaking and I had not been in to see or try anything as the event was about 5 months out. It felt pressured and other neighboring competition was said to be of poor quality. A courtesy would have been to answer questions and show enthusiasm for the possible business and possibly give the right of first refusal. If another party was waiting in the wings at that time for the same date, I did not know. I understand the goods to be delicious and business to be booming but that doesn't give the right to be short. I understand time to be very important with these matters on both sides and was respectfully in line with that. I do wish that I would have been better received and feel this could have led to more business for her and rave reviews. I am sad.
Update after response from Auntie Dee Dee: There are two sides to every story and I appreciate you following up on this review. But again, I have to remind that it is your short response and inability to want to listen over the phone and not returning a phone call that has led me to this review. You did not wait to hear what I was even asking of you for services or the date for services on the last call to you. I realized that you may be booked and would not have the ability to serve us any longer for our rehearsal dinner. I was able to find someone to cater our informal picnic rehearsal dinner for $10 a plate. I was calling to inquire about a few pies and sandwiches for 11 people for lunch. Your response to my phone call was an immediate dismissal and a no to a request that had not even had the chance to be requested. You were in such a hurry to get...
Read moreWe highly recommend Danielle for any and all of your food needs for your wedding or any other function you may have which requires delicious and beautiful food. Her bakery is a little corner of heaven in East Burke, Vermont.
Danielle provided us with amazing food and personalized and friendly service for our wedding at Burke Mountain. She made all of the desserts for our wedding. We decided not to have cake. We had delicious individual baked goods such as brownies, lemon squares, fruit tarts, heart-shaped fruit-filled cookies and gingersnap cookies. Each baked good was absolutely amazing. Our guests were thrilled with the dessert table. She made a special box with a collection of the goodies for us to freeze for our first anniversary. Danielle also provided food for the bridal party at the hotel on the day of the wedding. The freshly made sandwiches were unique and delicious. She made vegetable platters that were out of this world. The arrangement of the food on the platters was stunning. She made special boxes for the flower girl and ring bearer with specially made, kid-friendly food. All of the food was so good! We were totally and utterly happy with everything we received from Danielle and with her kind consideration and attention to detail. She truly wanted to make our day special.
Danielle was easy to work with and a pleasure to meet when we went to her actual bakery. If you are looking for delicious and unique baked goods and other food, we highly recommend...
Read moreMy wife and I were visiting from California. Our friends sent us to Auntie Dee Dee's for breakfast goodies. Wow! This place is on the very short list of the best bakeries I have ever been to, anywhere, any time. Everything was absolutely delicious. Get there as close to opening as possible for the very best selection (although it's all really good). You will not be sorry. For something a little different, try the apricot-fennel scones. But really, you can't go wrong here. Breads, cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches (called Belmonts - mild or spicy), scones - it's all great. All made on the premises, all extremely fresh, all worth going out of your way for. Just go,...
