My boyfriend and I were staying in Burlingame for only one night on our way through San Francisco. One night, one dinner, and we chose Fuumi. The waitress that greeted us to take our temperature was super friendly giving us a good first impression. We were told to pick any seat that had water set out. So we chose a booth by the windows where ONLY my boyfriend was greeted by a second waitress. I didn’t think much of it until she came back to take our order and once again only acknowledged my boyfriend. When she walked away I said something to my boyfriend about it. He kind of brushed it off until she came back a THIRD time and again only acknowledged him. This kept going on the whole 45 or so minutes we were there eating. The food was decent but the whole experience was ruined by the complete disregard of my existence. I told my boyfriend I’m going to be the one to pay to see how I would be treated. We sat at the table, mask on, obviously finished with our meal and she never came back by to give us our bill. We then decided to get up to pay and once she noticed I was the one paying she instantly addressed me as miss and talked directly to me. After I completed the transaction she had no problem asking me “was it an accident that you didn’t pay us any tip?” I always make sure to leave a tip, especially when it’s well deserved, but why would I leave a tip after being completely disrespected as a...
Read moreMy review is based on indoor dining 3/3/2021. Their pork ramen is disgusting. It was served with a thick soup skin. It formed this semi transparent congealed film before it reached my table. It is topped with burnt brussels spouts, a 1/2 of a hard boil egg, spinach, sprouts and two pieces of pork. Garlic oil is used to hide the weak and tasteless broth. When you mix all of that together, you get this mess. The soup did not taste fresh. It had a burnt acidly taste to it because of the badly burnt sprouts and is not worth getting sick over. I paid my bill and left after eating the tempura appetizer and finishing the sake. The repulsive ramen was left there after a taste of the soup. My bill came to about $38 with tax and tip. I hope the chef and management get their act together and actually taste the food before it leaves the kitchen. They can't even get the basics right, which is serving decent tasting food that is fresh and not burnt. There are plenty of good unauthentic, fake Japanese, Chinese owned restaurants. This is not...
Read moreWe walked around Broadway and decided to give this a try. It is a japanese restaurant and serves various japanese dishes. It is a nice interior. The restaurant has table service and sushi bar. The menu is via QR code. They have a bento box but not on the weekend. There are many items on the menu. We decided to try fuumi roll and charsiu ramen. It took a while for our order to arrive, especially the ramen. The fummi roll includes tuna and salmon, and also fried baby octopus with souce on top of it. It is unique and yummy. The baby octopus is crunchy. The charsiu ramen is so so. It is interesting ramen serve with deep fry brussell sprouts and ear mushroom. For me, the soup is not hot enough. It is tasty but not as good as ramen shop. Overall,...
