Never coming back here again. Customer service is horrendous. I’m Nigerian and just craving my ethnic food. I come in and she looks bothered I came in. Mind you this place always is empty. Get asked rudely what I want 2 seconds coming in.
Waited 15 plus minutes for the food. Mind you the food isn’t even fresh. She takes it to the back to microwave it. Microwave food shouldn’t take that long to reheat.
I order $50 worth of food and she gets mad at me for verifying the items I got and the prices. This food is way too overpriced for me to be getting food that I didn’t order or get overcharged more. She rudely told me to calculate my bill myself after i questioned my order. Mind you she doesn’t offer an itemized receipt so she can literally be charging you anything. Which happened to me early when this place opened. Imagine someone spending $50 on your food and all you can be is rude and dismissive. Didn’t even finish packing my order before rudely blowing me off to serve someone else. She can’t handle servicing more than 1 customer at a time.
Food is good but way too overpriced. 3 items in containers the size of Chinese takeout should never be $50. Money that can feed a family of 4-5. I got the jollof platter with assorted meats ($20.50). Giz-dodo ($10). And goat meat pepper soup ($15). The pepper soup had 3 pieces of boney goat meat and I think one of the pieces was even turkey. Imagine spending $15 on broth and bones. Save your money elsewhere....
Read moreI really wanted to love this place and the food. I placed my order over the phone for pick up. Arrived to the restaurant I noticed that there were sandals just sitting in the middle of the kitchen and it was in disarray. Trying to pay using a credit card, had several issues with the machine I was told due to the weather, so my card was swiped four times before being asked to put my credit card information into a app that was on one of the young ladies cell phone. I ordered the goat with rice and plantains platter, as well as the goat soup. I also paid additional two dollars per platter due to the fact that I was ordering goat. My total came to $32 and as you can see from the pictures was really not worth it. There were a total of seven pieces of meat between BOTH platters two pieces of the meat being completely bone. Overall, the plantains were cooked well and taste was good. The goat was over cooked or old. The soup was nothing but three pieces of meat with ginger broth and onions. The container for the soup was only filled up 25%. I did call to let them know of my disappointment with the food, the young lady apologized and offered to fix it by giving me 4 more pieces of the same cold old meat. Needless to say the food was not worth it and ended up going in the trash. Quality: 2 Quantity: 2 Taste: 2 Presentation:...
Read moreI wanted to try a new restaurant and have been trying for a long time for Peekay. I decided to treat my brother and sister. The dining space is immense. I can envision having having catered events there.
Now on to the food. I have never had African food and have read up on the battle for the jollof rice. My first eating jollof rice... spectacular and addictive. My protein, goat. I loved the taste of the goat however the meat was a little tough. I don't know if that is the texture of the meat or not because I have never had goat before. I had moin moin and dodo. Both were delicious. Moin moin was a custard type texture with the taste of a soup. It is made from beans and peppers. Dodo is fried plaintains and you can't lose with those. Each item enhanced the overall taste of the meal. My sister had turkey with the same sides and my brother, shrimp. A new experience and well worth it. I will be coming back. My only issue was the price of the full meal. Was the price worth it? It was unexpected to be so pricey but yes, I will say it was and is and will be worth it on my...
