This was by far the worst food I have ever eaten. Kids meals were mediocre at best. Dried up Kraft macaroni and cheese (making it home tastes way better for cheap boxed macaroni)... the grilled cheese seemed like it was made with barely any butter and the cheese wasnt even melted all the way. Was really looking forward to a good fish fry. Many peoole in our group ordered the panko breaded fish. The food came out and the fish was so dark! My brother in law asked me what I got to eat because he could not even tell it was fish. We immediately let the server know it was too overcooked. She took the food away and the manager came and said new fish was being made. I have been in the service industry for MANY years including many places that serve fish fry and I would absolutely NOT have even walked out of the kitchen with the fish the way it looked. The second batch of fish came out and it was still pretty dark but at least looked edible this time. The other manager brought it out this time and explained they were bringing it out "family style" so it was a bunch of pieces of fish and they brought multiple plates to serve ourself. They also brought a basket of waffle fries. Many of us ordered potato pancakes with our fish and did not even get them the second attempt. I took a couple bites of the fish and it was so unappetizing. Then I looked and there were parts that were undercooked. At that point I was not eating anymore. I complained and they ended up taking off $18 off one bill and $5 off another bill. My sister ordered her burger med rare and it was well done. The mashed potatoes tasted horrible. The beer battered fish was OK but nothing to rant and rave about. Very expensive for what was offered. To top it all off, we had upset stomachs immediately after leaving the restaurant and got sick when we arrived home. Would not recommend and will not be returning. Charcoal Grill used to be phenomenal. This was an...
Read moreI have nothing but wonderful things to say about Charcoal Grill! My husband and I have been here for lunch and dinner several times. The service has always been great and the food is so so yummy! We decided to use Charcoal Grill as our catering service for our wedding. From the time we had our first meeting to the very end of the night when they helped cut and plate the cake, the Charcoal Grill catering team was just exceptional! Tammy, the event manager, was seriously a dream! I have never met a catering manager that was so kind and friendly. During the whole experience, we became family. Tammy was EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY accommodating, down to earth and friendly, quick to respond and help us out in whatever way she could, and she is very understanding. Many issues that I ran into with my wedding, I could discuss with Tammy. She helped with my cake; she helped with fitting everything I wanted into my price range; and she even helped with issues with my venue. She was one of the most stress-free and easy parts of my wedding (because wow! weddings are so stressful!). I decided to do a buffet styled display. Everyone loved it. People that had food accommodations, such as gluten-free, dairy free family members, were taken care of. They just had to talk to one of the staff members and the food was prepped, plated, and prepared in an allergy-safe environment. Everyone could eat without worry. Easy, easy. Everyone loved the food! It was delicious. My husband and I were so happy! I cannot thank Tammy and her team enough. If I had the opportunity to do my wedding over again, I would choose Tammy and Charcoal Grill...
Read moreWe had not been here for a while then we saw a coupon for the fish fry and thought it would be a good time to try it again. We took some time looking over the menu just to be sure what we wanted. Parts of the menu were a bit confusing like the baked fish is not a fish fry option, it is a completely separate option. Based on the menu it seemed to be an option but I might have saw it wrong. Also, there were no beverages listed on any menu but the waitress team was able to go through the options for us a couple times. Strange that nothing would be in the menu about beverages.
We did have a new waitress who was doing a good job but had a few answers incorrect. Pretty sure that will be better with more time - her trainer was there to assist and was doing good with her part.
As far as the food - the main courses were very good. I had a hard time deciding between being able to walk out on my own and having more fish! The only item questionable was the clam chowder. It seemed darker than normal and very salty. When a supervisor was told about this, he took it away and offered the other type of soup but we declined. Sadly, the couple bites we took still cost us full price. Oh well, no soup for me!
I would be interested to check out some of their other options as I don't recall any issues in the past with the food or service. Just a little mixed this time. I did appreciate that they posted a credit card use fee on the receipt so I had an option. Some places don't display this...
