The Old Sharkey's Grill — Restaurant in Burlington

My husband went into this business to get him something to eat as he was sitting on the bar stool waiting fot his food two Caucasian men comes in I guess a regular morning customer comes in one of waitress Dawn (also owner)tells him he has to get up to let the Caucasian men sit down.My husband got up then he called me because he knew he was getting ready to cause a scene.After he approached her about the situation her response was "I was just playing " really??? you don't play with a BLACK man when it comes to discrimination. You dont play like that. I will NEVER give this place one dime of my money and this didn't end here!!We will be making this situation known public.In 2018 our struggle continues. Wife and I split the 24 ounce sharkey burger... We asked for medium but it came well done. Didn't matter. Burger was absolutely delicious. The first bite got rid of any displeasure I had about it being well done. My wife got an order of onion rings. The batter they fried them in was scrumptious. We will 100% be coming here again soon. 4, instead of 5, stars because of the cramped space and a very annoying fly. However, even with the fly, the place seemed generally clean. Only saw the one fly and it seemed to love me for some reason.

Man, if you want some really good food, go to The Old Sharkeys Grill. They have a large variety of things to choose from. They offer everything from meats & vegetables to cheeseburgers, subs, etc!!! You name it, they have it, & let me assure you, it's delicious! Sharkeys isn't a fancy restaurant. It's a plain little building with the best food you'll ever eat in Burlington, NC!!!! The staff was super nice & attentive too! My new favorite place to eat! Very reasonably priced on top of great quality and great food. If you haven't tried it...you're missing out!!!
