I have found my new favorite place to eat!
Reason #1- Not only do they offer Gluten free pizza, buns, and beer- They taste like heaven. I have not had a delicious pizza since I was diagnosed with Celiacs Over 10 years ago. This pizza crust was soft, and looked just just my family’s regular pizza as far as loft and texture. But by far the taste was EXACTLY like the real deal gluten. I literally almost cried with joy. If I want pizza, I am absolutely going to get it here. If you are like me and have suffered gluten free cardboard pizzas for year, order two of them. I have made it a habit to order backup wings or salad with “gf pizza” so I don’t starve when the “pizza” is actually the bottom of the pizza box with sauce and cheese on it. Don’t worry about that here. Order two gluten free pizzas so you (might) have leftovers to take home like a normal person. Full disclosure I did order wood fired wings that were delicious, but they came home in a box. I didn’t need back up food!!
The picture of the pizza is the GLUTEN FREE PIZZA!! If you are gluten free you will totally understand my excitement. It is fluffy and luscious!
Reason #2 On Tap gluten free beer made on site! The cherry is almost a sour beer, but it’s sweet. Delicious. The Ginger was tasty, but not my favorite that I sampled ( you read that correctly, you can sample them!!! They are on tap and not bottled!) The beat was the coffee beer. It was not as dark as a stout, but had a rich full flavor. You can buy the growler container for $6 and fill it with beer to take home!!
Reason #3 staff
The staff are very nice and knowledgeable about what they are selling and serving.
Reason#4 Location The owners have put so much time and effort into the premises. It is beautiful, clean, and spacious. Plenty of outdoor seating, and indoor seating is available on 2 levels. From the top floor you can see into all 3 floors and the kitchen. The kitchen has a beautiful wood fired oven as a centerpiece. The heart of the kitchen is the cook that makes the gluten free crust-by hand- and runs the entire kitchen like a well oiled machine. In the picture of the kitchen she has the blue hat on directly in front of the oven in the black shirt
Try this place- you will...
Read moreI am writing this review a month after I was at Homeplace. I had frequently visited this place and hoped one day that I would have friendly service and a good meal. As of previous visits I would have given the exact same points. Things started off well and the set up is not bad ordering at the Bar first and then receiving a number. Yes the place was busy but this had nothing to do with the amount of people. We ordered very quickly and my house salad came within 10 minutes followed by a veggie pizza I requested they change this for a chicken pizza that I ordered. When another veggie pizza arrived I told them I’m sorry I ordered a chicken pizza! I was astounded at the reply of the guy delivering the order !!! It was the RUDENESS of the OWNER! ( I expect to get a rude reply now or have a lifetime Barr) I was told after receiving the wrong order 2 times to just eat it and couldn’t I see how busy the place was and how I’d never worked in hospitality and basically just so rude I felt like you made it out to be my fault then made me feel so uncomfortable by coming back over to our table to make more rude comments at this so called great place of yours ! I wasn’t complaining about your pizzas although they are not as good as you might think. Unfortunately I don’t eat broccoli or carrots or whatever comes on a vegetable pizza so for the future just don’t be rude to your local customers who you might depend on in the future. Yes you offered a refund but I never saw it and for the record I’ve worked in hospitality a lifetime longer than you and I’ll keep you in mind when I send my bed and breakfast...
Read moreWe could not have been more impressed with our experience at Homeplace. After a day of hiking and exploring in the area, we were ready for a great meal and found exactly that. It's been a few months since we have been in the Burnsville area due to COVID so we had not yet had the opportunity to eat here but this first time will not be our last. The food was great-had individual pizzas and wings. The pico verde wing sauce is a must try. The wings are also whole wings so very generous portions. I don't eat a lot of meat so I modified the BBQ Chicken by subbing mushrooms for chicken. The beer is fantastic and so well crafted. The brewers really pay attention to ingredients with a heightened sense on local elements and a focus on interesting flavors. I'm a big IPA fan and my husband loves dark beers; we both found brews we loved. Try the half glasses to sample several! And don't forget dessert-the S'more pizza. Above and beyond the wonderful food, drinks and service, the team deserves an A+ for their focus on safety, social distancing and COVID precautions. We love supporting small businesses and as small business owners ourselves we know how hard it is to modify your operations to ensure best practices and safety. We met the taproom manager, Dustin, specifically to express our thanks for how above and beyond his team was going to make the environment safe while maintaining a warm and welcoming experience. Whether you were dining inside or out, you could do so with confidence that every precaution is being taken. Cannot...
