I gave 1 star only because there was no option for negative numbers. I can't review the tacos ordered because I never received them. I placed an order at the window on May 19, 2025, paid for my order and was asked to pull ahead to wait for my order and she would bring it out. For the first 10-15 min there were no other cars that pulled in, followed by people placing orders, getting their food and pulling off during the next 35 min. I then pulled back around the building and parked in the driveway ahead of the window. The girl came out and told me they were going to cook my food now, saying that the ticket never printed to the back (somehow all the other tickets after me did). I told her I just wanted a refund as it was ridiculous I had pulled my car to the slot that she had requested me to, and my car was in full view of the window and front of the store. She said she would get my refund and went back inside. I waited another 10 min while she took more orders, so I went inside to get my refund, to which she informed me that they were cooking my food right now. I again insisted I wanted a refund. She then refunded my money to me minus the tax I had paid saying that they don't refund the tax. I had to inform her that I wanted my full refund, what she was trying to do is illegal because I never received the food to begin with. I asked for a name and number to contact the owner, she said she can't give out her dad's number, she took my name and number. I never received a call. I researched on my own to find out that this restaurant is owned by the same owner as El Potrero, so on May 20th I called the Flint store looking to speak to the owner. The girl I spoke with there said she would make sure that my info was given to Greg or his sister Maria. Today is June 5th, I have never received the courtesy of a return call back. What a poor way to do business. I will definitely make sure to share my experience regarding not only Sabor, but also El Potrero leadership with all of my friends, family and customers (since I own my own business here in Burton myself.) I did try to call today before leaving this review, but again, Greg or Maria are not available, just an assistant manager who says they will take down my info again. I'm not...
Read moreWow! Another disappointing experience with a local restaurant. I spent $40 and don't have one good thing to tell about this restaurant.
Cons: First off, the person whoever took the order over the phone needs to be trained. I had to repeat very item twice before he could get it correctly. The Birria tacos are one of the worst I have had ever. Soggy, flavorless mush called tacos and don't even get me started on the consume. It tasted like the water that was used to rinse out a pot that had the actual consume. These are not even worth $3, let alone the exorbitant $6 they charge. The 'street' tacos had nothing 'street' about them. I felt the quantity of meat was abysmal - not like I would have wanted more anyway as they were devoid of any flavor/spice. The Tamale's are a joke. What you usually get for 1 tamale in other places is what is sold as 3 separate tamales in this place. I'm attaching photos of the tamales for reference. Finally, after all this, the cashier gave me my order that didn't have my Tamales. I called them and I was offered no refund for the item they missed. Only option was to drive 15 mins back to the store to get these. I was given 1 small container of salsa for all 6 tacos I ordered after repeatedly asking for both red and green salsa.
Pros: Good thing I'll never be visiting them again and will strongly advise all my friends against going here.
If you are like me and was excited to try some authentic Mexican food while supporting a local business, please stay way from this place. You'll face nothing but huge...
Read moreBoy, I hate leaving a negative review to a new local business, but I'm doing so in hopes of seeing positive change as we need a good mexican street food restaurant in the area. The food is objectively bad. The chorizo is sad and bland and pale. The al pastor had canned pineapple and was also devoid of flavor. The elote cup needed a lot of doctoring after the fact to make it anywhere near what it should be and was certainly not worth the price. The "mexican guacamole" was haphazard chunks of avocado and tomato, and the flavor was non-existent. I was most excited to try the quesobirria taco, but left disappointed. It was on a flour tortilla which was ok but not really what I expected, the flavor was similarly bland, and it came with a cold sauce that was not the standard consumé and didn't really add to it. To put it in perspective, there's a little street taco shop that just opened in Bloomfield Hills that I left a rave review for, because their $10 plate of three blew me away, and I ate the consume like a soup after I was done, compared to $6 for one sad one here. Their tacos are priced the same as high end taco places in Grand Rapids. If it tasted like those places I could justify the price, but unfortunately they have a lot of reworking to do to be successful. I really hope they take this feedback to heart, I'd love to see...
